Hey guys,

Long time lurker…. Here is my Disney story.

American who moved to Italy (so travelling internationally)

Best vacation ever was my first trip to Disneyworld (1982!) and I wanted to recreate it for my son.

I brought him when he was 3 to Disneyland Paris (not at all the same)

And I had booked a great budget trip before Covid (5 days at the Riviera resort)

Two years later after Covid, things have changed.

Son is 16 doesn’t like thrill rides (not even a star wars fan) and we are going more for me than him.

I just want to know if I can do Disney in two days: Epcot, Hollywood studios … with no thrill rides and baby rides but live the atmosphere.. I think he’d really like something like Epcot and just soak in the atmosphere. He loves travel, planes and technology.

I wanted to do….

Day 1

Epcot morning… Magic Kingdom (afternoon)

Day 2

Hollywood Studios…. Animal Kingdom (afternoon)



My questions are:

• Will I lose a lot of time traveling from one park to the next?
• What is the better option, 2 days and a park hopper ora 1 day vip tour

Though a VIP tour would be awesome, if you move slow enough to take in the atmosphere and enjoy your surroundings, you probably won’t get as much done.
And that’s a very expensive tour!

Also, AK closes earliest of all the parks so maybe do that one in the morning and close out with HS.

Would you consider just doing one park a day to have time to soak it all in? Then maybe your son will want to come back for another trip to get the rest of the parks done.

Animal Kingdom closes earliest, so that needs to be a morning park. Both Epcot and Magic Kingdom have evening fireworks shows so I would recommend those for the latter half of the day. Also, you can walk/boat to/from Epcot & Hollywood Studios. So my suggestion would be :

Animal Kingdom ----> Magic Kingdom

Hollywood Studios ----> Epcot

If you are staying on-site you might have some days where you would have the option of an earlier entry on leaving later. That's going to depend on your particular dates. In addition I've always found that Epcot and Magic Kingdom have the most interesting park "personalities" at night, especially Epcot.

I was about to type something about maybe skipping AK but I reread your post and if you're more into the ambience and atmosphere then AK is actually the most geared toward that. And I agree make that the morning park without a doubt. And something else besides MK where there's a similar "soak in the atmosphere" it would be World Showcase for me...although maybe you'd want to skip Italy! I know you're probably a traveler and the WS isn't going to blow your mind as you've probably seen all this in person but again just for the atmosphere of walking around eating and drinking. There are two rides for sure that sound up your alley in Epcot and that would be Living with the land and Spaceship Earth both of which don't have long waits. I think you'll be surprised how quickly you can bang out Epcot without doing any thrill rides. If only two days I'd prioritize MK just because you can walk around and soak it all in without any need for thrill rides. Take in the pageantry of the parades, enjoy people watching, etc. I hope your son ends up loving it and you relive your nostalgia and make new memories!

I would do a longer trip of at least 4 days for a park a day or a little longer to have maybe a day and a half or 2 in some or all of them.

Re-did the numbers and doing 3 days a park a day we actually save 50 euros!!! BUT I have to give up a park..... so hard. Undecided between Animal Kingdom (not into animals, but definitely sounds sooo cool) and Magic Kindgom (been to Disneyland Paris and more for younger children). What we would you do. I need a winning scratcher for my dream vacation!!!! Thanks everyone for your support. I love this community
