So today I got to talk to my initial planner for the first time (she's gonna work with us through the booking process then we'll get another planner for the actual wedding stuff). She filled me in on the whole booking process (deposits, time line, etc.) and then emailed me some more information. Since we're planning on a December '09 Escape wedding we can't call her and start the actual booking process till this December at 1 year out.

After talking with FDH we realized that while we're 100% committed to a Disney wedding, with the holidays coming up paying the initial deposit would be stretching our funds further than we'd like. Would it be to much of a risk to wait till after the new year to try and book? We don't have our hearts set on any particular date or time of day so we have that flexibility in our favor. I was just wondering waiting a couple extra weeks after the holidays are over would totally lock us out of having our dream December wedding? I'm planning on posing the same question to our planner but I thought I would ask some of you as well since you ladies (and some gentlemen ;) ) since you seem to have a plethora of information.

TIA!

It shouldn't be a problem, especially since you are flexible with your date and time. :thumbsup2

It may take a day or two to get your date confirmed, then a day or two more to get your contract, then I think you have a couple of weeks to get it sent back, so you could still perhaps call a couple of weeks before you want the deposit money to come out....
