We are going to US/IOA for the first time next summer. We have been to Disneyland many times but are unfamiliar with Universal.
My youngest will be nearly 9. He has a heart problem and every time we have gone to Disney, he rides in a stroller to conserve energy. But he is begging us to not make him ride in a stroller or wheelchair this trip. So we are going to try. We are staying onsite one night, so our 2 main days there, we will have express pass- I'm not really worried about those days. But we might try to go a few other times and it isn't in our budget to buy the express passes.
I have several questions so I can plan better.
1. Do they have any sort of disability pass? We used Disney's SAP when they had it and since they got rid of it we utilize FP as much as possible. I am NOT looking for something to cut the line. It would be great to have somewhere shaded to sit with him while the others wait in line and then join them when they get to the front of the line. If they do have some sort of pass, do we need some sort of proof and if so, what? Doctor's note? Medic alert bracelet?
2. We are going to use Child Swap for many rides that he can't ride. For the rides he is going to ride, can we wait in the Child Swap area and then both join the group once they get to the front of the line?
3. Are most of the queues shaded?
4. If he just can't handle the walking, I'm assuming they have stroller rental? What are they like and how much do they cost? Will a bigger child fit in one? Do they have wheelchair rental? How much is it?
Thanks for the help!
