waiting for someone to cancel

I have made reservations at Fort Wilderness a few months back (I know I waited too long) but we could not get all of the dates that we wanted so it looks like we will have to leave the campground the day before Thanksgiving. I just called Disney to see if there have been any cancellations so far but nothing yet. I guess I will keep trying. If anyone can give me advice on any other campground in the area I would really appreciate it.

I'd keep calling!!! Try every morning right at 7am if possible. Someone will cancel as it gets closer. Good Luck.

Keep trying! It took me 3 reservations to piece together our Thanksgiving trip!
I even booked the week after, because I felt there wasn't any hope. Tues, Wed, and Thanksgiving were the hardest for me to get, but after calling several times a day, we got lucky. Hopefully you will too! I don't know of any campgrounds in the area, we just bought our first trailer, but I have seen other threads where people mention other places. I just can't think of them! Good luck!

A fellow Diser told me that as it gets closer to your dates, depending on the cancellation policy, people will cancel. That's what gave me hope, and it worked!

I would like to thank-you for the encouragment to continue calling. I finally got the days I needed, now if only my friend and her family can get lucky with these same days, it would be so much sweeter. Thanks again!

I JUST CANCELED ABOUT 10 minutes ago!!!!!!! It was only for one night-The night before thanksgiving to Thanksgiving! Try NOW (and every 10 minutes in between) or Try in the morning. It might be available at 7 am. Good LUCK!

What a madhouse it gets to be that week. Seems everyone and their brother is there and trying to get to the same place you are. We're heading down Wednesday the 14th and going to attempt to do everything we want to do by Sunday. Then we've got a couple of days to just wander around and stay out of the crowds until we leave on the Wednesday the 21st. We then head up to Ocala and plug in at our daughter's house for Thanksgiving. Last year we checked in on the Friday before Thanksgiving and I felt like a sardine all week.
