He said he couldn't tell me the room number or location, so I asked, "If it was you, would you wait?" Without hesitation, he said he'd wait, so we did too.
Okay, I'm curious....was the room worth the extra wait? What was the view?

Granny... That was my first question after reading that post.

Arrived at BWV at 9:00am, and knew the room would not be ready. Left the luggage in the car, and headed to Epcot for the day. Came back around 2:00pm and our room was ready. I felt very lucky, since I know check-in is not until 4:00pm. BWV must have had a lot of people checking out the Sunday after T-giving.

Yeah. Because we were so tired, and because we've had Boardwalk view before, I didn't fall over with joy at the view and could have taken the pool view without any disappointment. But, we were 3rd floor, above the brewery and looked out over Epcot and the lagoon. Yes, a great view.

Unfortunately, the folks directly next to us were smokers and spent their time on the balcony, so I didn't get to use the view as much as I liked. (I understand that non-smoking room applies to the room, but I really wish it applied to the balcony as well. I'm sure this has been hashed over before, but I really don't see why smoking on the balcony in a non-smoking room/wing is acceptable. Not bashing smokers at all here. I just think that the balcony is part of the room you rent -- you pay more for better views -- and if it is non-smoking, it should include the balcony. But that is an entirely different thread, I guess.....)

Another downer when I did get to go out on the balcony was the upkeep of the resort. Granted we had just come off the Disney Wonder, but I was very disappointed/shocked at how dirty the balconies and facades of the building were. Maybe they haven't gotten to that section in the rehab, but I personally thought it was just a lack of a good pressure wash. The pool decks were also in need of some good cleaning as there were lots of leaves piled up at the edges. The manner in which the Disney Cruise is maintained (they were always painting/cleaning/scrubbing, etc.) is much more what I expect from Disney and I was quite disappointed that BWV does not look like it is being maintained in the same manner. JMHO.

Yes, the smoking on the balcony and around the building of a non-smoking unit has been addressed here. It is NON-SMOKING and that means no butts around or smoke in the air. For those of us who are very allergic, this is an important distinction.
