waiting for fireworks after parade

we are going week after Christmas...IF the parade is at 630pm and the fireworks are at 925 as they were last year....

would people just hang out on Main Street between the parade and fireworks to hold their spot....or is that too long and will we be the only ones doing that...

We will be watching the parade from "it's a small world" as part of the Holiday Tour..was thinking we would leave from there and walk to Main Street - stake out a spot and send someone to a counter service to get dinner and bring it back and have a picnic while we wait - and we could take turns shopping too???

will this work...or will there be no room when we come down from small world as everyone will be staying - or will we look like dorks sitting on Main street curb for so long!

The fireworks right now start are @ 9:30

Sometimes guests wait right in front of the hub before the 6:30 parade starts. Some guests would try to get a front row spot in front of SB castle when the parade ends around the Hub. It doesn't surprise me if guests would wait 3+ hours for a front row viewing spot.

You can have one person from your group save a spot with a blanket so you could mark your spot while other members of your group can do something else while that person wait. It is also good for switching turns which each other so you can do something else instead of that one person waiting the whole time.

It can work, but if it is on a very busy day you might have to be on the road instead of the curb or benches in front of the hub. That is only about 2 1/2 hours until the parade ends and you have to go through the heavy crowds back to MS. Don't feel bad if you wait on the curb for the fireworks, I have seen people wait more than 4+ hours on the benches and sitting on the curb. I have waited around 3 hours on the curb so my group can do other things around the park. I don't feel silly of doing it, but I want a great spot so my group and I could enjoy the full effects of the fireworks.
