I am new here. We are going on Aug 18 to 28 for 10 days with free dining. This is our first time to WDW.
Why do you guys need to know the park hours? Do you want to know the EMH of each park to plan the ADR? Are we supposed to avoid the EMH parks because of the crowd? Please tell me more about it. Thanks in advance.
This is our 2nd family trip to WDW; all the other trips were 20 years ago before we had kids. So I had a steep learning curve when I started planning last year's trip.
For what it's worth, here's what I would do:
1. Take a look at the menus at
www.allears.net and come up with a list of restaurants you want. For what it's worth, I tend to avoid any restaurants that count as 2 dinners on the meal plan; there are plenty of wonderful choices that only count as one. (My sister, on the other hand, has 12 table service meals planned for her upcoming weeklong trip

) The particular ones I'm looking at this year include Kona Cafe, The Coral Reef, Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Sci Fi Diner, Le Cellier, and possible Biergarten or the Aukerhaus princess meal. Others we tried last year included Chef Mickey's & 'Ohana)
2. Come up with a list of any non-daily shows or events that are important to you-- Fantasmic or anything similar.
3. Decide on a strategy-- will you use or avoid EMH days?
4. When it comes out, take a look at the August Calendar. (Or use the touring plans Crowd Calendar) Match your ADRs to the park you'll be in each day. (The monorail resort restaurants-- 1900 Park Fare, 'Ohana, Chef Mickeys, and so on-- are very easily reachable from the Magic Kingdom)
Does that help at all??
