Waiting for 2016

Eagerly awaiting the release of the 2016 itineraries, is this still around end of May time as in previous years?

Hoping for an October Southern California Backstage Magic - last time we tried all were immediately full or unavailable and by the time some availability did reoccur we'd alrwady made alternative holiday plans!

Fingers crossed this will be our year!

I haven't heard anything yet as to when the 2016 trips will be announced, so I'm currently assuming it will be late May as it has been the last few years. I'm sure someone will report it here once the date is announced.

I agree with you Meryl183. We must plan our trips over a year in advance and sometimes ABD does come out too late with it's schedule.

There are openings for this year's southern CA in Oct, the one we are going to only has 10 signed up. We book our trips usually a year in advance and it was hard to wait to see what was going on for ABD...but it paid off.

Adventure Guide Dusty posted on his facebook page yesterday about where he has been assigned for 2016 trips. So I assume they are getting pretty close to releasing them. Sounds like they've maybe set the dates anyway, even if they're not ready to book them yet.

Oh, DUH! You are so right! I, personally, am focused on 2016 right now, so was thinking about that for the Adventure Guides too. But of course, he did say at Christmas that he only finds out about trips a few months out. So forget everything I said above!

This is why my years have been flying by so quickly lately - I'm always planning at least 12 months ahead. Crazy. Need to breathe!

Same here! The waiting kills, so I end up just wishing the year away, too!

Quick question in the meantime - if you want to extend a hotel stay at the end of the trip, can you do this with ABD or do you need to make your own arrangements?

You can certainly have it added to your ABD package, either directly with ABD, or your TA can arrange it for you. If it is part of your package, then your transfers are still included. If you do it on your own, your transfers are on your own.

I wanted to add you *usually* can do this. I know there have been some trips where pre- or post- nights were not offered by ABD. I don't know if this is still true, but you need to check with ABD or your TA to see if it's available for the trip you're interested in. I would say most trips this is true for.

We are expecting 2016 dates to be released in late May 2015.

We are attending an ABD event in mid April, so we may have an itinerary announcement earlier than that.

It is my understanding that ABD's big announcement is the one happening early next week,

I do not believe we will see any new destinations for 2016 other than what is announced on 4/14/15.

Also, it's my understanding that 2016 Adventure dates will be released on June 9th.

This is a bit later than usual.

Thanks so much for the info DisneyKevin, I hope that doesn't mean they are breaking up bookings for the new-whatever-they-are-announcing and the rest of next year's itineraries. That would be a bummer. I know there are many of us who would like to see all the offerings before deciding. Seems like they've done some funny stuff the past couple years. I know the Norway itineraries were announced after the rest, which was a bummer for those of us who'd already made our decisions. One of my biggest complaints about ABD is that they need to do a better job of coordinating with DCL AND making earlier announcements in general. June 9th is really late compared to other companies (and DCL which came out last month).
