Wait - We're staying Where? and When????

Come on Mo, there are lots of houses for sale around here and we have an excellent school system!

Sounds like a fun filled weekend. I went down Saturday to sew and my machine was not having any of it! Finally Dan went down Sunday to see if he could fix it, and of course it worked fine. grr! Hope you got a lot done. And can't wait to see the Villain bag!!!

Sorry your machine was acting up. I hate when that happens. My thread kept breaking, which almost never a happens, but I do think it was the stabilizer. I've used it before so I'm not sure what was up with that.

I have more things to make so Charlie gave me a break from yard work this weekend. I did manage to get a lot done. The princess dress is almost finished too!

************
I spent yesterday in my sewing room and may go back down there today. I finished up my Villains bag - no picture yet, but I promise one soon.

I finished 2 more t-shirts for the kids and finished my Heartbeat tank - I had more trouble with my machine on this shirt than I've ever had. I think it was the sticky stabilizer I was using.

I also finished another shirt for Charlie and my animal print shorts. I still have some hand sewing to do on the shorts, but for the most part they are finished. Not sure I like the pattern because it has pleats and honestly I don't care for pleats, but we shall see how they look once I finish the tank to go with them.

Today, I have a princess dress to work on, but first I need to make a quick run to the grocery store. Tonight we are going to my son & dil's house for a cookout.:woohoo:

Have a great day!

My my my....weren't you just the busy girl with all of your sewing.

I regret not keeping that up when I had it in high school so that I could make cute stuff to wear to the parks. :(

I hope you had fun at the cookout at your son's house.

Busy busy busy!! As usual! You sure are getting it done in the sewing room! Man o man! I FINALLY got back on the shirt making an did me and the hubs some Indiana Jones ones for HS! I'll have to post them later :-) I reeeeaaaallllyyy wish I could sew like all of you :-( I need a teacher...

I'd be happy to give sewing lessons! I've been "sewing" since I could sit at the kitchen table and reach my Grandmother's sewing machine. She taught me to make an outfit when I was 13, and somewhere I have a picture of me wearing it. I've been sewing ever since, mostly self taught, although I did take a sewing class in high school. I hated the class and the teacher had no love for me either, although I never did find out why she disliked me so much. I tried to follow her "rules" for sewing although I thought most of them were stupid.

Anyway, I've been sewing for many years and find it very relaxing.

No machine sewing tonight, I have some hand sewing to do.

:cheer2::rotfl2::lmao:

Okay, I need to get in on this little pow wow…I can bring my own machine.:thumbsup2 I'm so envious of your quilting trip, Tess. I really would love someone close to me who shares my love of sewing…and Disney!!

Welcome back to my weekly update....

Well, I really don't have much to post about. I'm in the process of cleaning my house - really exciting stuff there.

Charlie is in the process of cleaning out the garage so we could maybe park our cars in there....haven't been able to do that yet, and we've lived here for 12 years.....

I finally found the right sized beads so I can make some bling, I love D~s bling but the beads are just a bit too large for me. Not sure I'm going to be able to wear a necklace as it is because of the humidity, but in any case, I needed smaller beads. Add one more project to the list.

Meg's princess dress is nearly finished. I just need to add the netting and slip under it so it poofs out and put in the zipper, and hem it, and, and.....no really, it is nearly finished.:cloud9:

I have a few more projects to work on, but this week I need to gather the projects I'm taking with me on my quilting trip. Not sure how much quilting is going to get done, since I plan to take some "other" projects with me as well as my embroidery machine. I can justify the embroidery machine since I'm using it to do some "quilting" on my latest quilt project. I don't really care since I really just wanted to spend some quality time with my quilting buddies.

We got the titles and registration cards in the mail this week for the new cars. Unfortunately, PennDOT screwed up and put my car in Charlie's name, as well as his car. All the paperwork had MY name on it for my car, so I don't know how they managed to screw it up, but I'm not a happy camper. The car dealer is working on getting it changed, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to go sign more paperwork. The place is about an hour from my house. :headache:

Going to have a busy week at work, since I need to get several projects finished and off my desk before I can leave on Friday....:surfweb:

The only thing I need to do for our trip is to make a reservation for the hotel for our trip home. Since we plan to spend a half day in MK on our last day, we won't be able to drive straight through. I also have to pack, but that will have to wait until I get back from Tennessee.

Okay, off to vacuum......:laundy:

Alright... Sewing retreat and I wasn't invited? Officially - I am inviting myself. :lovestruc

Oooh - you found smaller beads???? That is awesome!!!! I agree, the beads are a *little* large, but they are so fun! And once I saw them in some of Suzi's photos, I think they look really good. I am very anxious to see how yours turn out!

Cannot WAIT to see Meg's princess dress!!! Very excited for this! She is going to LOVE it all!

What a bummer about the car mess, hopefully it gets straightened out quickly - and with out the extra drive...

Have a great weekend in TN! :)

D~

I feel your pain with the housework. It keeps rearing its ugly head in my life too. Takes way more time than I like.

Here is another example of someone screwing up and you having to jump through all the hoops to get it rectified! How can they be so inept as to put your car in Charlie's name??? Makes you want to scream. When we sold Dan's car last year, the new owner couldn't get a license plate for it b/c the title company said we didn't own the car, the dealership did. So, Dan had to go to the dealership where we bought the car 10 years before and get it straightened out. He had to contact the attorney general of Ohio no less!!! All because of a mistake by the dealership. I mean we had the title for the car, but the paperwork never got filed I guess. Hope yours resolves much easier!!

I can't wait to see Meg's dress! She is going to flip out for sure. So is Mo for that matter!

I hope you have a ton of fun on your quilting trip. How long does it take you to get there? I'm sure your ladies will not care what you work on while you're there. Sounds like a great group of friends!

Well, time to get Dan's breakfast and then pack his lunch. He's lucky to get a lunch at his desk these days, never mind going anywhere. He's one busy guy!! Have a wonderful day!

Can't wait to see Peanut in all these WONDERFUL outfits!!! why did i go shopping for clothes? You guys are fully making her total week of amazing outfits! :cheer2: :rotfl2:

Hope you get the car situations all settled.. what a PITA!!!! Cleaning? What's that???

I hope you have a fantastic time on your quilting trip.

My parents came over this weekend to do some garage sales. My mom is a quilter and my dad has made a quilting room for her at every house she has lived in. My mom has floor to ceiling book cases along one of the bedroom walls. All of her material is pressed and folded and stacked into squares. Then she color coordinates it. She really is OCD. Anyway, my dad has told her no more material. She has a couple of bins still that will not fit. She has one wall that is floor to window with shelving. So, we are out at a neighborhood garage sale and I have lost my parents somewhere. I come to one, where the woman quilts. Anyway, she has a bin of fabric, the cotton blend that my mom uses, and she wants $1.00 per plastic grocery bag. So, I go looking for my mom. She is 2 houses down, so I shout for her. She comes over and sees it. She hands me her purse and tells me to distract my dad. :rotfl: You can never have too much fabric. My dad was just . Guess he will have to start working on a bigger room for her fabric.
