Wait Times?

I have a question about the wait times in the standby lines.
Are the posted times generally pretty accurate, or is there a tendency to overestimate or underestimate the times?
We haven't actually been to the parks since 2002, and I don't remember how close their estimates were.
Is there anybody who has actually timed them?
Thanks for the help.

In most cases, the posted wait time is actually about 10 minutes longer than the actual wait. Disney would prefer you to get on the ride thinking, "Wow ... that wasn't 45 mins, it was only a half-hour" as opposed to, "That sign said 30 mins and we waited for 45!"

By and large, though, they're accurate within about ten minutes.

I agree with the above for the most part.

Me too. When we were just there, it often said 10 min, but all we had was the long walk to the front of the line and then a few minutes until we got on. We had a lot of rain, so the crowds were low.
