We are planning on getting to AK on a Fri (Nov 3) right at opening. If we head straigt to EE should we be able to pretty much walk on or have little wait? What have the wait times been? We would like to ride it more than once.
I was thinking of heading straight there and doing it once and doing some other things in the area and grabbing a fast pass for later in the day.
Thanks
Lisa

We headed straight there, grabbed a FP then stood in the standby line. We waited maybe the most of 5 minutes? Go through Asia, it's quicker than cutting through Dinoland (we found out the hard way). LoL. Have fun!

Yeah, same for us, early AM. And the Asia part, much quicker

We also did it late in the afternoon, right before closing. (this was in June) wait time posted was 60min but we didnt wait more then 20. Its a GREAT ride, have fun

I was there in mid-Sept and crowds were almost non-existent. I arrived at AK around 9 AM, which was the opening time, headed thru Asia straight to EE. I rode it twice in a row-very short standby lines and then got an FP for about an hour later and rode again. As I said this was mid-Sept and mid-week -a very slow time. It is a fun ride!!

I have noticed throughout WDW that 99% of the time the actual wait time is now where near the posted time. :thumbsup2

We got there at opening, headed straight there, and rode twice in a row - with no wait. :thumbsup2

This is great news guys! we too are planning a Friday am trip to Ak (in fact, the Friday just AFTER the one the OP mentioned!). We want to head straight to EE, grab a FP (for later) and ride it.

And it was a 10 min wait at 9:10am....however, we got on in 7! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

My 9yo dd and I rode it 8 times in one day in August. Grabbed FP, stood in standby, rode FP, got another. And used the single line. My dd's new favorite ride. The frone is better than the back.

We were there in July and arrived at opening. Headed right to EE picked up FP's, got on in 10 minutes, got off and used our FP's to ride again. Later in the day did FP's again.

If you see a fat, balding guy with a gorgeous daughter and a wired 5 year old kid, that's me doing the exact same thing that morning.

I'm so excited. We're going to WDW 11/4 - 11/11 so this is very helpful information. EE wasn't open when we were at AK the last time. I can hardly wait! Thank you again! :tigger:

Disney rookie question, please set me straight:

You all say going through Asia is faster, but don't you have to go through Africa to get to Asia? That seems a lot longer than going through Dinoland to me. What path do you take to Asia?

No you don't have to go through Africa. when you get to the Tree of Life if you go to its left you go to Africa if you go to its right you go to Asia. Once you get to Asia stay to the right and you will run into Everest.

Totally agree with going through Asia!! We were there on Columbus day, went right there, got in line, waited maybe 4 minutes, got off, rode again, waiting probably 7-8 minutes. Then we got a fastpass and rode again an hour later. Wait for the front, the front is so cool!

We went to get a fastpass for Dinosaur first thing when the park opened.
Then we went to Dinoland and there were no waits for DinoRama so we decided to ride that. The CMs let us ride two times in a row without getting off.
Then we went over to Everest. So after about 45 minutes after AK opened, we waited no longer than 15 minutes for EE and rode it twice in a row.
EE is the most an EXCELLENT ride! :thumbsup2
