Any idea on the wait times inside DCA for the rides that are not part of Cars Land? Are they better the same or worse?

While I was there on Friday and Saturday (probably not the most reliable data because of opening weekend), from the looks of the tip board, lines in DCA seemed like a normal summer weekend.

30-40 for Screamin
40-50 min for TSMM and Soarin
60 for ToT

Not unreasonable.

I have been stalking the Lines app, to try and spot trends before our trip next week. it seems pretty normal, for a summer day, in the rest of the park.

I was there Monday and Tuesday and even though it was on weekdays, it felt like a weekend. It may be my misperseption because I didn't make opening on Monday and spent the early hours in Cars Land on Tuesday. So I didn't see most of the park at its best. I went this exact same time a year ago and it felt busier. Nothing aweful but busier, maybe a few to 5 or 10 minutes longer.

ski you're back! Sorry to hijack the thread but I'd love to hear your thoughts on CL. :thumbsup2

We were at DCA this a.m. The turnstiles (for non AP holders) opened at 7:30 and everyone was herded just passed CCT and held for rope drop at 8am and then we were all escorted, slowly and orderly, to RSR. The stand by line was already 120 minutes so our family of 4 chose the single rider line which said 5 minutes but took closer to 20. Still we were off the ride by 8:40.

We immediately left Carsland and went to TSMM which had a 20 minute posted wait at 8:45 although we ended up waiting 25 minutes. By the time we exited the line had grown to a 50 minute posted wait. Our kids then entered the line for Mickey's Fun Wheel and waited 15 minutes to ride. Silly Symnphony Swings line was 5 minutes at 9:15. The Little Mermaid had a 5 minute wait at 10am. Bottom line -- the crowds descend on RSR as soon as the park opens and that means most other rides have very short waits for the first 1-2 hours, but then build quickly as everyone filters into the rest of the park. By the time we left at noon for a break, there was a 110 stand by wait for ToT.

RSR appeared down at 11:15am when we passed it after having lunch at Pacific Wharf Cafe. I can't imagine waiting for 1-2 hours (or more!) and then the ride breaks down. So glad we did it first thing. I had toyed with the idea of getting FPs first thing but the line built so quickly that we decided against it and very glad we did. Might try single rider line again tonite after WoC.

Thank you! This is very very helpful and useful information/experience. :goodvibes

Thanks! Great detail!

ski you're back! Sorry to hijack the thread but I'd love to hear your thoughts on CL. :thumbsup2

I don't want to go into a lot of detail, because CL and BVS are super awesome, I want to encourage people to go and discover them for themselves.

I'd probably rate RSR a 9 out of ten. It's not perfect but great, to put this in scale I'd give Splash an 8 and IJA a 8.5. I really liked the queue, it winds and twists and if you look up you get a evolving view of the Caddiac Mountains so don't just stare at the back of the person in front of you. Going under the road and seeing the cars going by is really cool too, much like BTMRR. Inside the ride is spectacular. Ride it at least twice night and day if you can.

In CL the storytelling is maxed out, there are so many signs giving the back story it's amazing. You can get really busy reading signage.

LFT is really good, though I think my advantage was listening to how to make the tires fly before I got there. Outweighing DS I sat in more to the center, let him lean where to go as much as he wanted and I only leaned a tiny bit to fine tune it. We ditched the ball and floated around the first ride. Also grab a ball on the way into the tire if you are trying to fly around it's hard to do that and reach over for a ball, leaning to far to fly. Try to encourage other people to play catch, this worked on our second ride. The queue is really great, but I didn't like going outside during the day after the cool inside section.

MJJ is really fun. It's a simple ride the least novel compared to the other two. The queue moves ok with the dual ride systems it feels much niced than Tea Cups or Astro Orbiter where you stand and wait longer before moving. Being that the lines is the shorest in the land it was nice to ride something new without a big time commitment. My only problem was since it doesn't go in a regular loop I couldn't just sit on the outside and not squish DS. Though since it goes around one way and then the other he wasn't getting crushed all of the time.

I was worried about a multi hour wait for RSR. So on Monday I didn't make opening and got in line late and rode after a while after closing. The line went slow for a while but then started moving along, I assume this happend because the FP queue emptied out. On Tuesday I did make opening so I got a FP and then went to RSR for about a 75 minute wait. Used the FP Tuesday evening.

LFT I waited about 75 minutes for each time which is really long for that ride but I wanted to ride it and didn't care. Next time I ride that wait will need to be under 45.

MJJ I caught at about 20 and 30 minutes. 30 seemed long 20 seemed fine.

I didn't try any of the new food. The waits for the food reminded me of being in the parks on a school break. Big line here big line there.

The Matterhorn also had about a 75 minute wait which may end up being it's normal. It got 60 to 90 minute waits before. Loading seemed easier but I can't tell if the dispatch time was really any different, probably but I couldn't tell.

BVS is awesome. I expected it to be a lot like entering DHS. I haven't been into DHS lately but BVS seems much better. The street is more 3D. It also has a nice developoing view because of the bridge and CCT at the end. When the trees fill in it will be great.

In the two days I was in the parks for about 30 hours of which I spent 2 in BVS, 12 in CL, then about 6 elsewhere in DCA, and the last 10 hours in DL.

Very good info ski, you should copy and paste this post in it's own thread as your first impression or experience in CL. Thanks!
