We have visited Disney World many times and will be visiting Disneyland for the first time soon. Can anyone tell me if there is a wait time app for rides like there is on the My Disney Experience app? Any recommendations for touring plans or the best way to navigate the parks? What should we get fast passes for first in each park and is it like the old fast pass system in Disney World where once your return time comes up you can get a new fast pass and are they unlimited in the amount you can get per day? We would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!

About a month ago, Disney came out with a new smart phone app called Disneyland and it has wait times, times & locations of character meet & greets, entertainment info, a map, bathroom locations, etc. I thought that the wait times were pretty accurate based on what we experienced when we were there earlier last week.

Fastpasses are like the old system at WDW, "unlimited" though you have to wait until yours is valid (or two hours have elapsed) to get another one. Fantasmic, World of Color, Anna&Elsa meet&greet as well as astro blasters are all disconnected so they don't affect eligibility for the rest of the fastpasses. Additionally each park is disconnected from each other, so if you get a long fastpass window at DCA you can go get passes for something at DL as well.

As far as which to get, Radiator Springs Racers is eternally popular and Fastpasses usually run out during the day so you may want to get passes for that early and often. I've heard that Tower of Terror has had longer waits recently so that might be worthwhile too. Other than that, just get fastpasses for what you want to see. If you have any interest in F! or WoC absolutely get a fastpass in the morning.

As mentioned the Disneyland app has wait times, and it also includes current fastpass return times. This is useful if you say want to know when to get RSR fastpasses to get an evening or nighttime ride, or to plan out how to avoid waiting 2 hours for eligibility for another fastpass.

Thank you so much for the replies, I really appreciate it. One more question, when you say Fantasmic and World of Color are disconnected does that mean I can get those in addition to my regular fastpass with no penalty? Also if hopping between parks we could technically get a fastpass in each park if they are long return times? If so that is great!

Correct on both questions; already having a fastpass for something else won't prevent you from getting one for Fantasmic or WoC, and getting a fastpass for either won't prevent you from getting one for anything else. And yes, if you pull a pass for a ride in DCA you can run over to DL and get a pass for something there right afterwards.
