Wait lists during Epcot Food & Wine

Am currently wait listed for a Treehouse 22nd-23rd October but with an offsite backup plan in place. Does anybody have any experience of getting any wait lists during the event period, specifically prestige locations like the THVs at weekends? Thanks

It's tougher. I have one going right now just for a one bedroom at SSR and I'm not optimistic

Your chances are not good. Food and wine is such a popular times for dvc members.

Although I will say that I just made someone's waitlist clear - a waitlist that was probably deemed impossible to come thru. I just cancelled 8 nights in a bwv standard view studio for the first week of October. It was booked at exactly 8:00 am on the opening of the 11 month window and all studios were gone at 8:15.

I've had every one come through, but if it hasn't by now for an October stay, the chances are slim.

I was able to pick up a 1BR Standard view at Kidani AKL today randomly for 10-15 - and I also was able to get a Jumbo House studio for the 23rd. Make sure you are stalking the DVC site daily. We added a day before our Poly stay and 2 days post Poly stay, so I am trying to piece together more nights. Good luck.

Probably not likely. I have one for the Sunday night of the Wine and Dine half thanks to Run Disney changing the day of the race after posting it for 3 months. I recommend stalking the site as it seems rooms are available once someone cancels and before a waitlist is fulfilled. I am not sure the process, but maybe the waitlist are only run at a certain time or times of the day.

Well, stalking worked. Just got my extra night at SSR. Now I have set up a few new waitlists since I would prefer an Epcot resort. I had a waitlist for the room I just grabbed so....

Still waiting for my ONE night wait list bcv studio oct 24th. Been on the wait list for many MONTHS now. Not very optimistic right. I had a 1 night wait list for August at bwv standard studio that didn't come through either.

I had a wait list come through for the Sunday night of the November F&W half marathon weekend at BWV. I followed the good advice I saw on these boards to request a pool view rather than a standard or boardwalk view because there are more of that room type and it is less desirable.

When I got the email about 2 weeks ago (after being on the list for about 3 weeks), I was over the moon!

Stay on top of the DVC website. Once the 31 day cancellation point arrives, people are forced to make a keep the reservation decision or deal with the limitations of canceling under 31 days. Lots of folks make multiple reservations pending the special event, Eat to the Beat, Celebrity Chefs, etc schedules. Particularly, those who drive, wait until the last possible time frame to decide to go. There will be some availabilty at that time. Last year, I wait listed two days at the beginning or my stay. At 32 days out, they came thru.

I've waitisted once successfully, and have a waitlist right now for that time. Both times, I had a studio reserved at 11 months and waitlisted for a 1 BR. Last time my waitlist came through at 31 days. The CM told me that it often happens that way-that people know they're going to cancel, but then just don't get around to it until just before that dreaded "holding points" date. We've got a couple more weeks, then I'd better be getting the news that our WL came through!
