Wait Listed

I have a question and I know someone will know the answer. This is a little confusing but here goes. To start, I have OKW and VB as home resorts. I wait listed 2 night's at VB at 10 1/2 months. I also booked OKW for those 2 nights to be on the safe side. They just called and I got one of them. The other is still wait listed. They put back my OKW points and used my VB points for it, still outside the 7 month window. I will need to bank the rest of my 2006 points by Feb so I said something to her about that not being a problem since both the VB and OKW points are 45 for the night I wait listed. If it should get it before the seven months I would just tranfer my VB point to cover it and bank the others in Feb. After Feb, it would be an even swap since we would be within the 7 month window. She said that the 7/11 month window goes with the time that you wait list the nights which is at the 10 1/2 month window. That if I get the conformation for VB after Feb (when I have already banked my points) that I can't use my OKW points for VB for the even swap. I don't get this. This would mean I will have 45 points at OKW that I can't use. Does this make since? Are we really tied into the 7/11 month window from the time we ask for the wait list? She said we could wait list the night at 7 months to avoid this but she didn't advise it. I hope my explanation makes since, it is confusing. I just wanted to know what other people had been told. Hope I can get a clarification from them, but I didn't have time to call back and ask. I am busy getting ready for my son's wedding Sat. Thanks in advance for all your great help.
