Wait list to make split stay

Hello all! We are currently booked for 7 nights (Sat-Sat) at BCV in February. We would like to split this up and stay Wednesday through Saturday at AKL for the second half of our trip. Wednesday and Friday are available but not Thursday so we'd have to wait list. My question is how does it work since we already have a reservation for the full week. Would our original reservation get cancelled or would it just be modified to 4 nights? What about our dining reservations linked to the original reservation?

Your dining reservations should not be cancelled. But I don't think you can set up a wait list to cancel only part of a reservation -- I think, at least online, you give a reservation number to replace. You might have to call MS & ask them to split the existing reservation in two, then do the wait list to replace the one.
