We had a ressie at OKW for a 1BR for Jan 3,4,5 and had to waitlist for Jan 1 and 2. In order to make sure we had somewhere to stay on-site, DW got us two rooms at POR. CRO said she had the Disney Club Package. FIne. We were just happy to have a place to stay.
Then AP rates came out and we booked our POR nights at a lower rate. Great!
Then the waitlist came through last Thursday, and now we have 5 nights @ OKW in a 1 BR. YAHOO!
I've noticed that, at least for busier times, the waitlists start freeing up as you apppoach the 30 day mark, I guess because people don't want to lose their points.
Here's the weird part- DW called to cancel POR and they told her we had to pay $69 for non-rfundable travel insurance! It turns out that was part of the Disney Club package at the time of our original booking, and CRO had it in the computer that it was all explained to us.
Well, we complained that we were never told anything about anything being non-refundable. CRO put us on hold for about 5 minutes and then cancelled it out. We checked our original confirmation and sure enough, there it was. I had seen travel insurance, but the non-refundable part didn't register.
Lesson- Analyze your ressie confirmation when it arrives!
