Wait list, rack rate, and other sundries: can I do this?

Okay, so we're looking to add a studio to an existing reservation for the first weekend in December at VWL. Slim chance, right?

We w'listed for a studio for the entire stay but are willing to pay rack rate for a Lodge room in the event that it doesn't come through.

Could we do two w'lists: one for the front end of our stay, one for the back end of our stay and use the Lodge ressie for what's left over?

If both w'lists come through, could they link our reservation so we wouldn't have to move rooms?

AFAIK, DVC points stays and cash stays cannot be linked.

And you also mention a studio room and a "lodge" room - those couldn't be the same room as those are two totally different things in two different buildings.
