Wait list question

Hi, does anyone know if at midnight of your 7 month window, you can online waitlist the dates of your reservation? (Hoping that makes sense!)
The room I'm looking for is available, so I just wondered if I'd be ahead of the game by wait listing it at 12:01am over booking online at 8:30 am?

It's the same time frame as booking. So you will be able to go online at 8am eastern and search for the room and if it's not available to select to waitlist it.
