I am curious about the wait list procedure. If I have a wait list at, say, BLT for 4nights and Im "next in line"* on the waitlist list and someone cancels a week that includes the 4 nights I want, do I get my four nights and then the three other nights just go back into the system? Or in order for me to get my four night does someone have to cancel an existing ressie with just those exact same for nights?

*is there a "line"? And If someone is waiting for the whole week would they cut ahead of me and get it since they want the whole thing? Or if I've been waiting longest do I get my four nights?

Hope this all makes sense!

It seems the answer is that no one knows. However, the waitlists that have most often come through for me have been 1 - 3 nights, & I doubt that many people have only 1 night stays, so my guess is that they fill the days going down the line, giving as the nights are needed.:confused3

Calling seems to have help people. I've never called and was told that you wait list just came through. I've always found out via member site or e- mail. I hardly ever Waitlist, none active at present.

Assuming the system works as it ultimately is supposed to, the answer is that yes, you would get your wait list and the other days would go to the system or other wait lists. They would not skip you in favor of someone who had the full week requested. You qualified as being the next in line and that assumes no one is ahead of you including no priority wait lists. However, the reverse is not true. If 3 of your 4 days are available, they will not match your wait list and hold them for you hoping to get the other day. They would instead skip over you and match to someone who matched exactly or put those days into the general availability. Now the WL is not perfect and it appears there is the chance someone else could call and reserve those days before they checked them against the wait lists pending.

Not to debunk this theory, but I had tues Nov 6 through 9th reserved at BLT, with the 10th and 11th booked elsewhere. I waitlisted Friday and Saturday night at BLT, and just checked my reservations and was suprised to see that We now are confirmed Tues to Sat at BLT, with the Sat night still at the other resort. So they filled one of the two nights at BLT, but not both.

Showing in my waitlist section, the Waitlist for Friday the 9 - Sunday the 11th is shown as inactive, and the confirmed is November 9th -10th. I did not set each night as a separate waitlist because I did not want to move on Friday, only to move back on Sat. So I waitlisted both, and they gave me 1 night. I'm not complaining, but I will now go back and waitlist Saturday night.

I'm assuming you had only 1 view listed. I wonder if they created 2 waitlists for you one for both nights and one for the next day. Make sure you still have the one night listed appropriately.

They didn't have ANY active waitlists showing. I had to go back and add the Saturday night. It showed the original waitlist for both nights as inactive, and the friday night as confirmed. Very strange as I had BOTH nights in the original waitlist. I'm not unhappy about it, but now I'm just hoping the Saturday comes through. I'm kinda annoyed that I had to go back in to add the Saturday, because what if I had waited another week to check? Who knows what can happen in a week. It's been probably a week since I had last checked, so who knows when this was done either.

This is a situation that really should be reported to Member Satisfaction. Someone definitely made a mistake while converting your waitlist to a reservation.

You know.....it is quite possible that it is my mistake here. I MIGHT have put a waitlist request for JUST the Friday night when I first made the reservation. At first ONLY the friday night was the night I could not get a reservation for. I had booked tues to fri, and then Sat at BLT. When the 7 month window opened, I cancelled the Sat night, and booked Fri & Sat at WVL. I think that's when I waitlisted the Fri & Sat at BLT. If I HAD put the Friday on waitlist back when I made the original reservation, then this would make sense, as they would then cancel the 2 night waitlist since it overlapped the original waitlist.....but I don't remember doing that. It's highly possible my memory is wrong.

Either way, I glad to get the 4th night at BLT and I hope to get the 5th night as well, but at this point I'm sure I'm farther down the waitlist priority. Had I known it was going to come through, I would have kept that Sat night at BLT originally :bitelip: Unfortunately I would have needed to borrow from next year to have been able to do that, and we are going to bank next year's point to use in 2014.
