I am a DVC member and have a reservation at SSR next week for 3 nights. We are on a wait list for BW (preferred view) or BCV. Our wait list will cancel out tomorrow. I called today and asked them to check and see if any other BW views were available. The CM told me that 2 of the 3 nights were available so I asked her to keep us at SSR for the first night and move us to BW for the last 2 nights. She told me that since it is less than 10 days out she needed to call the front desk and see if the room was really available. After checking she told me that it was not available. I asked her if she thought it was worth it for me to continue to call and check and she said that I could but they would have to call the front desk everytime and check to see if there really is availability. Has any one ever had any experience with this type of thing after a wait list has cancelled out? Thanks in advance!

Yes. The reason is that the cancel department has to verify that a room is actually available through a checking system and that can take a few days in some cases. And they also want to eliminate last minute cancellations as it makes the DVD system harder for them to manage.

If it makes you feel any better though you are lucky to get ssr, the place is packed. We are in the same boat on the 6th and are certainly happy just to get in there with a 1 bedroom. Have a great time

Every time we have wait listed, we have gotten it.

As for now, I would keep calling, you never know....Good luck!
