I just about have myself and my DW talked into DVC I've done my home work and there is one burning issue that I see after reading the boards here and that is the wait list. If i become a DVC member I'm I constinantly having to be on wait list's just to go on vacation? At this point we are not picky where we stay I just want to know that if at 6 months out I can get a 1bdrm somewhere on WDW. We are not picky as they all seem great as long as we are at the World. I guess my question is do we have to wait every time we and try and plan or are resivations simple to get. We won't be going during the holidays or spring break. I just don't want to sign up and play a waiting game any advice on this or any other DVC issues is greatly appreciated. :thumbsup2

If it were me making this decision, I'd feel very confident and comfortable that I could get a reservation for a one-bedroom at a DVC DWD resort at 6 months...(we got one at BCV last week, for early Jan)...

You'll likely even have choices...when I called last week for our reservation, all of the DVC resorts had one-bedroom availability (2--BCV and WLV--had one night of our week unavailable for studios...but all of them had one-br availability...our week is 1/4-1/11)...

THe 7-month reservations that are the hardest are BCV & WLV; BWV standard and boardwalk views; grand villas; and Christmas-to-New Year's, spring break (Easter), and Easter. October-early January probably require booking as close to 7 months as you can, altho you have more time if you're happy w/a villa at one of the bigger resorts (SSR and OKW, and possibly AKV as it gets built)....one-bedrooms seem to be easier to book later into the 7-month window than the other villa sizes...

Good luck!

The PP missed possibly the busiest time of all: December. Pretty much, all of December. Very, very popular time for DVC members to visit (low points, cooler weather, holiday decorations up).

I don't think you'll have a wide variety of choices at 6 months for December vacations. You might get availability at SSR and OKW, since they're so large, but you're likely to be waitlisted at the smaller resorts.

Also, the Epcot resorts can be pretty difficult to book during the Food and Wine Festival.

It's certainly possible to get reservations at 6 months or less; I've done it myself. If you have no objections to staying at OKW or SSR, you'll likely find availability there most of the time. If you prefer the smaller resorts (BCV, VWL, BWV), you may have some difficulties at busier times of the year.

I called last week for SSR for Dec. 2-7 and am waitlisted. There was no availability anywhere for a studio.
