Wait List for July 4th

Any ideas on if we have a chance at the wait list for a studio over July 4th? Everything is booked... EVERYWHERE. It will be packed at WDW. We got a great rate at AKL, but wanted to use our points. Also, we didn't realize that 30 days out they clear the waitlist, and you have to call to get back on. I would have thought I was still on the waitlist if we hadn't called today (sigh). We're keeping our fingers crossed! Hope with us

Based on the lack of responses I've reeived, I gues my chances aren't so good???!!! ... any opinions?

We tried every day for about 2 weeks before July 4th last year. We were hoping to get into Vero. No luck. The real kicker was that we originally had ressies at Vero but thought we wouldn't be able to go. We ended up cancelling at about the 3 week out mark. Then the next week, we decided we could go, tried and tried, but nothing came thru.

Hopefully your luck will be better. Since we cancelled 3 weeks out, perhaps you'll get lucky and snag a cancellation, too.

We ended up going WDW and paying cash at POR. It was a great trip!

We booked a studio at BCV just this past Monday for 7/2-6 with no problem. Keep calling!!

Thanks guys... just got a call today for OKW, but we wanted to be closer to the parks. We're still on the list for BCV BWV + VWL. In the meantime, the AKL is looking good!

Glad you were able to get into the BCV. That was a good time to call, as they wipe clean the wait list 30 days out. ENJOY your stay. I can't wait to see the place.

We're out of points so I didn't even attempt DVC ressies...but as of yesterday the only thing I could get for the 4th was POR, CBR or CSR. It's gonna be crowded! Seems there's plenty of availability starting the 5th though....on cash anyway.

Bonzie - you mentioned that you got a call for OKW but you wanted something closer. Does that mean that if one waitlists for a particular resort, you will get a call for any resort that becomes available? I was just curious because I'm waitlisted for OKW for Thanksgiving but I'm not really that particular about it. Can anyone that has waitlisted answer this question. Thanks a bunch!

We waitlisted for all studio's (i asked my husband not to include OKW... just too far away for me for this trip) . So, we are still keeping our fingers crossed for July 2-6 at BCV VWL BWV. We'll see... You can be waitlisted for more than one property at a time.

Thanks so much for getting back to me! I'll call this morning and add the other resorts to the list. No one at MS mentioned to me that I could waitlist for multiple resorts. No one mentioned you could waitlist period if a resort was sold out. They can be pretty tight lipped at MS - or perhaps I should read my member guide a bit more closely !

Be careful to only request those resorts you would want... if a waitlist comes through and you refuse, I understand they note that somehow, and it could jepordize future waitlists. That's why I was concerned when they called us for OKW and I said no thank-you. Good luck.
