Wait list for adding points

We decided to add on 25 points (so we could just pay for them rather than financing). I called our guide today, and she said for our use year (August) the only resort where we could add on is Vero Beach. She said the only other option is to get on a wait list for our home resort (VWL). I asked how long the wait list usually takes - she said it could be a month or it could be a year.

Has anyone ever been on the wait list for additional points? If the additional points were available at another WDW home resort, I would take them but I'm not so sure about VB. Any opinions?

I'm in a little shock that the BCV are sold out for that month.

I would say to go on a wiat list at your home resort. A lot of people on these boards have done that with success. Especially considering you are talking about 25 points. That amount makes it hard to justify having another home resort.

If you can wait. My neighbor's home is VWL with Oct Use Year. She got on the list 4/2002 and got her call to add on 50 pts 4/28/2003.

Not the best news you want to hear, but don't add on somewhere just to add on. Who knows Disney has done a lot of ROFR lately.

I'll through some pixie dust your way.

It also may be possible that there are "contracts pending" on VWL that may not go through and you could get points quickly. I know when I went to do my BWV contract, I was undecided on 100 or 150. I was advised to do 150 on my paperwork to secure them and that I could always request new paperwork with fewer points while I decided. Therefor, if I lowered it (or backed out:( ) points would then be available for the waitlist. You may want to ask how far down you are, that might give you a little bit of an indication.

Good luck
Sandy
