Wait List Chances? 2/17/07 - 2/24/07

This is our first vacation with DVC and MS can only confirm 3 of 7 nites at SSR at this time. They say that wait list should not be a problem but I am concerned with this busy time. My wife is a teacher so our times are very limited. Any luck or advice on wait list at busy weeks with 5 months still to go?

I think more units are scheduled to open up soon at SSR, although I am not sure if they would already be included in the inventory for that time, or if they can't be put into inventory until they are actually open.

Even without that, I think that with 5 months still to go, you should have a good chance.

Wow, that does surprize me that SSR is booked for that time frame. I guess because it is a holiday week? Is there availabilty anywhere?

We are being told that the 3 nights exist at OKW and not at SSR. MS is trying to fill the other nights anywhere. We told MS that we were flexible and would even consider moving once if needed.

Is it all available at OKW? If so, I would book there, and waitlist for the time at SSR. I know people move, but I wouldn't if I didn't have to do it.

Plus, not all waitlists come through, but still, we've had some lucky ones, BWV for a studio just before Chrismtas at 2 months out. If MS gives you encouragment, that's a good sign.

I have a ressie at VWL for that same time frame and I'm waitlisted at OKW for a 1BR. I've had about a 50% success rate with wait lists so far.

Thanks for the replies. The 3 nights are all at OKW but they are split on 2/17 and then 2/23 and 2/24.

We are hoping for a 2BR at any resort, or even the 3BR at OKW, with no more than 1 switch if needed and hope to hear back from MS at any time.
