I currently have a reservation for a 2BR at VGF for two nights on 10/5 and 10/6 for 5 adults and 1 child. Due to points consideration, I would prefer getting 2 Studios.

I have a wait list for each studio with instructions not to cancel the 2 BR unless both wait list are filled.

What are my odds?

Getting 1 studio is a challenge, getting 2 would be a real stroke of luck and again that is if MS doesn't mess things up. Please have a backup in place, hope for the best and plan for the worse.

We have found that less is more when it comes to MS doing things. After failed waitlists, reservation mistakes, point transfer mistakes, room requests being deleted in error be book at 11 months online.

At VGF slim very slim, even owners struggle to get studios in October.

You have a very real risk that MS will misunderstand and cancel the 2 bedroom if 1 studio shows up. Personally I'd cancel the wait lists and enjoy the 2 bedroom.

I would personally never try a waitlist like that. My bet is you'd end up with 1 studio, no 2BR and hoping for a 2nd studio waitlist.

If I had the points I'd set up a waitlist for 2 studios and then cancel the 2BR myself it they filled. If one filled and there was still a wait on the second then MS could modify the waitlist to cancel the 2BR if it filled.

You never know when a waitlist might come through but the situation you have is that you want two, which is far more difficult than getting one, there are only 47 studios total at VGF, they actually filled for the high demand period you are seeking at 11 months out, and there is likely already a long waiting list for those studios that began building four months ago. Thus, my guess would be your chances are not high, and understand the warnings given above about MS possibly screwing up your request, with you ending up with only one studio and no 2BR, are not given in an effort to be humorous but are raising a possibility that might actually occur with MS, and you should consider that in determining whether to keep the waitlist you have.

The odds are MS will screw up your request. :-)

This is the only thing that might happen IMO. Odds of getting two studios I put at 0.2% because they would need to both come available at the same time. I also don't know what would happen if your wait list hits (1 studio) but the other is inevitably not available. I believe what will happen is your wait list will match, but due to your instructions not be filled and therefore cancelled.

I would not mess with it. The chances of 2 coming thru are remote, and too much opportunity for things to go wrong.

However, technically speaking, if you cancel a 2 bedroom, and it is a 2 bedroom LOCKOFF, you have a brief window in time where 2 studios are available.

This does not apply to a dedicated 2 bedroom.

I have a studio for a week in October, and I booked it at 11 months out, at 8AM. 10 minutes later and I would not have gotten it.

VGF studios are such a commodity, when financially appropriate, I may add points so I can ignore studios there altogether, and get 1 Bedrooms.

The challenge is the need for two rooms. Whenever I waitlist I do them 1 day at a time, which takes work, but usually zips right in. We just 5 days this June moved over in less than 2 weeks at Jambo for a studio in what was deemed one of the busiest weeks of the year by Member Services. 3 of those days showed up just two days after waitilist. I've only had this process fail once. Doing it in a large block, as it seems you have done, I agree that you will most likely not get it. My request was similar canceling each night we had at OKW as the AKL opened and it worked perfectly. As I said the challenge becomes that you cannot cancel the one night in the two bedroom until you have the nights in both studios. This far out I'd just go for it and say as a night comes up in a studio have them cancel the same night in the 2 BR and then you just need to waitlist the same night in another studio along with adding the other waitlist on another night, but that way you are not needing two things to happen at once, but my risk tolerance for this is pretty big. If things did not work out you can almost always find something in OKW or something at about 45-60 days out so that is always our back up plan if we do not want to move around.
