I currently have a 4-night free dining ressie in a preferred room at All Star Sports the end of September...1 day park tix for 2 people. Total cost: $569. I went through the Disney site to get a price with the new room-only code. Cost for 4-nights in a standard room at All Star Music is $314. If I add up the approx cost of the meals we would pay OOP ($200 -ish), I come to a total of $514 (don't really need the park tix).

So, taking these figures into account, it seems as though I am only paying $55 more for my free dining ressie....and that ressie includes preferred location, 2 park tickets, and meals that I don't have to worry about a budget for.

Am I figuring this right?

This is an adults-only, Anniversary weekend, and we'd like to linger at some nice meals. Not having to keep an eye on the food budget would be a "plus" this time around.

Thanks for any input!

Looks good to me:thumbsup2 That is our $ too:hippie:

Even if you don't need the tickets now they still have value. You can upgrade them in the future or use them toward the renewal of an AP.

Thanks for the replies. It seems so cut and dried when I read it here, but everyone was posting about how they saved so much $$ with the new codes, I thought I might be missing something.

Lovesdumbo: That's exactly what I was thinking about the tix. We still have 2 days left on our MYW hoppers, so I'll just tuck the 1-day tix away until I have to purchase new passes in the future.

The discount codes are almost always a % off of the rack rate. So staying at a deluxe resort with a much high rack rate will equal a much larger dollar amount savings.

Free dining is free dining - does not matter where you stay the discount is the same.

For us 2 Adults and 2 - 17 YO staying WL with a 40% discount and paying for dining is almost the exact same price as paying rack rate and getting free dining.

It is different for everyone based on party sizeand make up, type of room, eating habits, etc.....
