I haven't posted on the Weight end of the deal for a bit. Just wanted to share.
We are in the midst of the prequel to the one day detox. We are schedule for that on Friday. It hasn't been too bad. During the prequel, you have include various different foods from different food groups each day. All these groups are to support liver and colon function.
You also have to avoid certain other things. Caffiene has been the hardest for DH. Especially with the early mornings, he was seriously missing his coffee. We had to head on out to Whole Foods to pick up some herbal coffee. Teeccino. Interesting product. It brews just like regular coffee. DH actually found a flavor that was tolerable.
Gluten has been the hardest thing to avoid overall. Do you realize how many things have gluten?
I feel such sympathy now for anyone with Celeriac.
I went to my Tuesday double class night last night. Good times. Good times.
I'm holding steady weightwise. Normally, I'm the kind of body type that actually GAINS weight when I start exercising. It's so frustrating. Not that I bulk up, but I start building muscle and my body won't let go of it's potential famine stores. Then one day, finally, my body says, well, I guess we won't starve to death any time soon, even with all this extra activity, and I'll lose like 8 pounds overnight.
Meanwhile, I have a ton of housework to do. There it is. I hear it calling my name.
And with that in mind, I wanted to share this piece of research with you, especially the you-s that are also pursuing a weight loss goal.
There was a study done of housekeepers that worked for the hotel industry. They divided the housekeepers into two groups, the control group and the study group. For the study group, they educated the housekeepers explaining that their JOBS satisfied their daily requirements for exercise. Neither group altered any diet or exercise regimes. And do you know what happened?
The study group lost weight. This information is too old in my brain to tell you how much, but it was a significant percentage of weight. The control group didn't.
The results of the study showed the power of the mind.
In whatever activity you pursue, understand that you are exercising your body. That scrubbing action in the bathroom and kitchen? Exercise. Bending over, making beds, doing laundry, going up and down stairs, vacuuming, sweeping, etc etc. It all amounts to a form of exercise, and if you actually think of your body movements as exercise, your body WILL respond to it.
If you don't think of it as exercise, your body WON'T respond to it.
And now ladies, I have a TON of exercise to do around the house this morning!
