We went shopping today. Were gone for an hour. Came out of the mall to a torrential downpour. People had stopped on the interstate because it was coming down so hard. We were only gone for an hour.
The bad news? We'd left every stinkin' window in the house open except, like, 3. Puddles everywhere...
Anyway, to the part NOT to do...
I had an "I'll get to this stuff when school starts and I have more time" pile underneath my bedroom window: My son's 1st grade yearbook, a pile of pictures from Y teams my kids have been in the last few years, end of year report cards...It just makes me sick. I did try to blot the pictures and I hope they'll be OK.

I'm sorry you had a bad day...know how you feel. We had such a driving torrential rain this afternoon, that the windows were closed, but the water was filling up between the screen and window that it overflowed into the bedroom...thank God I didn't loose anything, but the mess was just too much. Also had to mop basement floor. On the whole day was ok, hope your day got better as it went on.

Ohhh, does not sound like a good day. I hope you were able to save most of the things. I know if I were to lose my pics I'd be pitching a fit!

Thanks everybody! It did get somewhat better. The photos seem to be OK. The yearbook is in the worst shape. There may be some extra ones leftover at school, so I may just get him a new one.
We were able to borrow some fans and ran them all night on the carpets. They mostly dry this morning.
You know, when something like this happens you just don't realize how much you have near windows until it's all WET! Of course the kids beds and a couple sets of curtains got it too. Ugh! More laundry today...
