I had an idea about heading over one afternoon to FW. Where can I find the schedules for these activities.

I wanted to do the petting zoo
maybe the wagon ride
eat dinner at Trails End
Sing a long campfire
Maybe the movie
Watch the water parade and Fireworks

What time do we need to schedule the ADR, and do you make a ressie for the wagon ride, also do you think a 13 year old would enjoy this, or is he too old?
Is the view of the fireworks nice, do the play the music, can anyone watch or do you have to be staying at FW?

Thanks

Hi tink.

I'll try to answer part of this. The movie thread is posted around the start of the month and will have the movies for that month. The Chip & Dale singalong precedes the movie. During the winter months the singalong starts at 7pm and movie starts about 40 minutes later. From March through October (basically the months of Daylight Savings) it's an hour later (8pm singalong). If DS wants to roast marshmallows the Chuck Wagon concession stand sells sticks and mallows enough for one night. The fires are lit before the singalong begins.

Here is the movie list for January 2015. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3362932 It is in a thread that had rolled onto the second page of the Camping Board.

The petting zoo is not so much a petting zoo per se. They give pony rides that are led by a parent (about $5 and must be less than 85 pounds). But there are ponies in the corral and the horse barn is worth walking through to see the horses that "work" the parks and parades.

Fireworks appear over the MK at their scheduled time with the music piped in with speakers along the treeline of the beach. The trees of Discovery Island block only the very lowest fireworks. The water parade is at 845pm off the pier.

Trails End is good for supper. I just got back and ate the buffet breakfast there - it was good. Probably a 530 or 6pm dinner time would work.

Not sure about the wagon ride times.

These things are open to anyone not just Fort guests. It's a great way to spend a late afternoon and evening.

PS - wagon ride runs periodically no reservation for a fee. (private carriage rides can be reserved). the wagon ride does go through some camping loops so you can check out the trailers, rv's tents, and lights/decorations that campers put up.

Okay, thank you so much. I really want to go and check it out. I will run it past everyone. I was going to do a split stay, but I don't want the hassle of moving.

They have a sing-a-long, smores roast and outdoor movie every night that starts at 8pm. It is free and anyone can go. If you are at a park, leave enough time to get to the campground from the parks either by bus or boat or private vehicle. Once you get to the Fort, you also need enough time to either walk or ride disney FW buses to get to the sing-a-long area. I would plan head there about 1-1.5 hrs in advance. You can bring your own marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers for roasting smores or you can buy a kit there. They provide plenty of roasting sticks. The seating is on log benches and metal bleachers so we usually bring blankets to sit on. Chip and Dale will make rounds and allow time for pictures w/ kids-- no lines, they come to you. There will be singing and dancing (think hokie pokie with Chip and Dale) then once it is dark they will play the movie. It is usually an animated Disney film and they change nightly.
