While we were trying to iron some stuff out for our wedding, the fiance and I talked a bit about our DL trip as well, and now we're leaning back towards DLH over the GC. We still have yet to make our final decision (not going until the 9th of September '07), but I think I may have it figured out as far as the differences between each hotel. If anyone can add anything to this then by all means, please do. It might help the decision making process
-GC over DLH:
1) Newer
2) Larger rooms (or am I wrong on this?)
3) Not as many families with little kids around
4) Direct access to DCA
5) Views of DCA if we pay extra for a park view room, and
6) Appears to be a more relaxing and adult oriented atmosphere. I'll be 27 and she'll be 21 when we go.
-DLH over GC
1) More "traditional Disney", somewhat of a more oldschool Disney experience
2) Used to staying at DLH so I know my way around the property
3) Not nearly as spendy per night as GC (won't be spending much time in our room anyway)
4) Views of DL or DTD if we pay extra for it, and
5) In reference to #1, I like all the old Disneyana spread around the hotel. Both of us love the history behinf DL.
Definately a hard decision to make. We're staying for 10 nights, so we've also toyed with the idea of staying in one the first 5 nights, and the other for the second half, but that's kind of a pain to switch hotels so probably not feasable. I have GOT to go out and pick up the 2006 guides...
