Well our lovely state doesn't allow us to receive any information from disney about the DVC. My wife and I are planning a trip in september and we'd like to buy into the club while we are on property since we have no other choice. However, i'd like to see the DVC video that is availabe on the website, however it can't be shipped to our state! DOH! Does anyone have a copy that they wouldn't mind parting with? I promise not to turn you into the authorities or anything we just want to have all of our ducks in a row when we go down there.

. I think I may have a copy. If you e-mail (ncligs1@aol.com) or PM your address, I will send it.

We are in the Portland, OR area are you close?

We have a video and I am sure could request another one so you could have your own copy.

When are you planning on going to WDW?

I just wanted to say I feel your pain! I live in a blackout state too and went through the same thing! We bought into DVC last July during our vacation. It was crazy, they really had to rush us. Now we might be moving to Florida, OY!

Isn't it a bummer. We are Washington residents too and bought a few years ago when we were at WDW, but have missed opportunities to add extra points because they sold out before our planned return.

If Nick and Cindy can't find their video, pm or email me and I will ship mine. It is nice to "preview" before visiting. Lots of people advise here to visit and buy at "your favorite," even if it means resale. At the very least you can watch the video and get a feel for the resorts you like most.

Have fun. Shopping for DVC is VERY exciting!

Thanks for the responses!! We are heading down to Florida in September 2004. Looks like the 10th-21st at this point.

When you take your trip in September, stay using your points. I did this when I had to go down to FL to buy before Wiscosin saw the light! Your Guide will move heaven and earth to make it happen. All you have to do is sign a paper saying that if you don't buy, you will be responsible for the current price of the room that you occupied.

It made me feel like I was saving money even before I owned anything!

Once you've seen the video and are ready to become members, call the Timeshare Store if you don't have to have Saratoga Springs. They don't seem to have the same restrictions on resales since they're representing individuals and you can get really good buys on Boardwalk, OKW, etc.

Darkpenguin19,

We stayed at the BWV (rented) and took the DVC tour last month...I still have the infomation pack they provided if you are interested.

SSR looks to be a great deal if you are looking to buy directly from Disney along with the new 50 yr plan.

We have decided to buy resale so we can pick our home resort...now just coming up with the "vacation money" all at once is our concern.

Our state, like others, are just trying to look out for our best interest from the timeshares that are out of our region...They think we might just get caught up in the Disney Hype and buy into something we couldn't take advantage of.

IF you decide to buy from Disney you must do so while you are there...as they can't contact you after you arrive back.
