I'm going on a 4 day DCL and leaving tmw. I am not taking my power wheelchair. My debate is do I take a manual wheelchair just in case I find the distances are too much for me or do I take the risk that I will be able to get around the ship without a wheelchair. DH will push if neccessary.

Call the cruise line and ask to reserve one of theirs. I just returned from a Princess cruise and I saw lots of princess manual chairs that people had reserved for the cruise.

I have a manual available. I'm just debating whether to take it or risk it.

Let's think about this ... if you take your own wheelchair & it sits in the room, at least you know it is there if needed. If you don't take it, & you need it, you might kick yourself for not taking your own wheelchair (which is probably comfortable for you & not used by others). I'd rather be safe than sorry :).

I agree with Judith.
I would probably take it because if you do need it, at least you will have it.

DCL does NOT have wheelchairs available on the ship except for in case of emergencies. (There are beach chairs though available on Castaway Cay free of charge.) Thus, if you even remotely think you'll need a chair, best to bring yours. ----Kathy

Much agreed...I took my powered chair onboard, and still took my manual chair as well! I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a minute because of chair problems...that, and the shore excursion we chose (Glass Bottom Boat in Freeport) could not accommodate my powered chair at all, and I didn't want to leave it at the dock. Have fun!

I am having a blast! Food is great. Swimming and the whirlpool is awesome. Had a massage today and I feel terrific! WOW! And I did need the wheelcahir for boarding as they drop you way out in the parking lot if you are not on a Disney bus. Next time I'm taking a Disney bus :)

Glad to hear you are having a great time.:bounce:
