Good morning everyone. We will be staying at VWL in november and although we do have a car my family would like to take the boat ride over to the MK one evening. I have my own w/c but am wondering about the water level problems I've been reading about. My question is would my chair still be able to be on the boat if we fold it and just carry it on? I am able to walk short distances and can easily transfer to a seat but am wondering if my chair will be allowed at all? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I don't want to be wheeled all the way down to the dock to be told the chair has to stay off. :confused3 Thanks for any input on this.

I have stayed at WL many times using an ECV and never experienced any water level problems. If there is a few inches difference between the dock and boat, the captain just loads or unloads enough people until it is the same. There should be no problem using your wheelchair. I think if you are willing to fold your chair, you can use either the big or small boat. If you do not fold it, you will need to wait for the larger boat. It runs every other time. I love using the boats! It is very quick and lets out right in front of the entrance. If you have questions, just ask the captain of the boat. They are always really nice and willing to help. You will love WL!

Thanks for the help bedogged. Just wanted to make sure I would be able to get my chair onto the boat if there should be a problem with water levels. :thumbsup2

There is absolutely no problem if someone in your party carries your folded wheelchair onto the boat and you are able to negotiate the step and/or ramp to get on.

Same thing for getting onto a bus.
