W Access Rd near Animal Kingdom Lodge

On Google maps I noticed a street called "W Access Rd" heading south towards Irlo Bronson Hwy about halfway between Animal Kingdom Lodge and the access road for Disney busses to the Animal Kingdom bus stop.

Is this road open for traffic? It would make a nice and fast connection to the Publix on E Orange Lake Blvd just west of Animal Kingdom Lodge.

When looking at it with Google Street View it seems to be blocked of but maybe this has changed in the meantime.

Otherwise, the next fastest access to Irlo Bronson Hwy probably would be Sherberth Road, right?

Just outside (east of) Animal Kingdom Lodge at the only traffic light in the vicinity is a road south to Irlo Bronson (192). That is Sherberth Rd. Where Sherberth meets 192, on the far side and slightly to the west, is one of the well known Golden Corral buffet restaurants. Just before the Sherberth/192 intersection is Black Lake Road to the west that goes behind the scenes for about a mile and then you rejoin 192 towards Orange Lake.

Inside AKL and to the west there is no outlet.

Western Way, which goes west, passes well north of AKL, and becomes Hartzog Rd. at the intersection of north south expressway Toll 429, joins up with the familiar Disney roads (joins Buena Vista Drive) near Blizzard Beach and Coronado Springs.

That road is not open to the public. You will need to use Sherberth Rd.

Oh well, too bad, would have been a nice shortcut. Sherberth Rd it is, then...
