Can a two bedroom villa accomidate two families? One has two adults and one child (6) and the other has two adults and two kids (5 & 6 months). Will there still be enough privacy?

You have the master bedroom with a king sized bed and the second bedroom with a queen sized bed and sleeper sofa. Also a sleeper sofa in the living room. Two bathrooms.

In additon you can request a two bedroom lock off, that way the family "sleeping" in the second bedrrom which sleeps 4 plus and infant could have complete privacy. The other room is the main part of the villa, kitchen living room and master suite. The living room sleeps two and an infant comfortably and the king room could also house the infant in comfort. I'm sure you would have plenty of room as these are designed to fit 8 adults and two infants comfortably. One Pack -n- play is usually found in the closet of the extra bedroom and in the closet in the main unit.

It sounds like this may be an option. How many points would I have to rent in order to get a two bedroom in late July for 5 nights?

Actually, eight persons plus ONE infant under the age of three. Put a request on the Rent/Trade board and someone will give you the information you need. Tell them what you want (size, name of resort, smoking/non-smoking) and when you want it.

In July a 2 Br requires 40 points for a week night (Sun - Thurs) and 75 points for a weekend night (Fri - Sat).

So, if you checked in on a Sunday and checked out on Friday the total points would be 200 (at $10 a point it would be $2,000, or $400 a night - a great rate and better than you can get reserving direct thru Disney). If one of those 5 nights was a Friday or Saturday you'd need 235 points ($470 a night - probably still better than you could do direct thru Disney). If you were there for the entire weekend you'd need 270 points ($540 a night - you might want to see what kind of rate you can get directly with Disney as you can make a cash reservation for a DVC resort thru Disney's Central Reservations Office - and look for a code).
