Are there any places to eat or buy supplies at the Villas or do you have to go to the main lodge for everything?? Also, how convenient is it to get from the Villas to the main lodge's snack area??

MiknMinMouse, the only place to buy supplies is at the Mercantile in the main Lodge. Roaring Forks snack bar is just about a minute walk from there. How far away you are from The Mercantile really depends where your villa is. Anywhere from a 3-5 minute walk average.

I would consider myself lucky to be able to walk and check out the fantastic themeing of VWL/WL.

The restaurants and shops are in the main lodge around the reception area. The villas are next to the lodge connected by a covered walkway.
The longest walk is from the villas to the boat ramp, and it isn't a bad walk.

The villas are separated somewhat from the lodge; that is, you must leave the Wilderness Lodge main lobby area, go outside under a covered walkway about 75 feet (past the bus area) which is a beautiful area....I might add, and into the lobby of the villas area. There is a game room with some board game tables in this lobby, a fireplace, the DVC information area, and some beautiful decorations. It was very quiet in this section during our stay. You can also walk around the back of the villas lodge towards the lagoon and past the pools and enter Roaring Forks through an outside back entrance.

Either way it's only a matter of 2-3 minute walk, as Gracey said. It's so quiet and secluded, I love it there!

You can also go out past the pool area. A walk thru the quiet pool at VWL, toward the marina, to the pool at the Lodge. We prefer walking the other way, under the covering, because it's so quiet and you can hear the crickets and the frogs and the music. *sigh* I wish I was there right now.

Last time I stayed at the main lodge they had mugs you could buy to refill during your stay. Are those available at the Villas?? Thanks for all the help BTW, I'm in planning mode so I'm getting all my info.

All of the shops and restaurants are in the main building. The mugs are available at Roaring Forks. As others have stated, it's really not very far from the VWL.

The Sturdy Branches Health Club is located in the Villas.

I use my mug all the time at home so I can pretend I'm there having a nice Diet Coke by the quiet pool

What kind of trees are all around the WL....who knows?

my favorite thing about posting is seeing how close my vacation is. Can't wait!!!

Yeah, a lot of times we just walked through the pool area because of where our room was, the door to the pool was close. However, I think it is a shorter walk just going through the covered walkway. I think it is possible that the walk from a villa on the first floor near the door to the mercantile would be shorter than a walk from an upper floor room at the end of the wing in the old lodge building.
