We (2A, DS and DD) have stayed at OKW since we started with DVC. My wife is interested in trying something different. She wanted to try VWL next time around. As we will most likely need an inflatable bed for my son, we would have to find room for it. We know the inflatable fits in OKW... would we have problems finding room for it in VWL?

Are there other reasons (don't include the pool, sadly we never have time to get to it) we would want to stay at VWL instead of OKW?

thanks...

If you're staying in a studio at VWL, it might be a squeeze for the inflatible. A 1-BR shouldn't be a problem. There is a fairly large entry way that might accomodate the bed, but it's off by itself. Depending on the age of your DS, this may or may not bother him. I've never used one though, so maybe someone else can come up with the best place to put an inflatible bed in a studio at VWL.

One of the nice things about VWL is the ability to easily walk to all of the resort amenities. OKW is quite nice, but if you're not near the HH a car is a nice luxury. At VWL, many times we park the car and don't see it again until check out.

Good luck!

first of all start to use the WDW buses - even if you haven't before. the parking lot is not very close. as jarestel say.

secondly what size is your mattress - a twin would fit - in the door area - also I think between the beds - but you need to find a different place for the stuff off the sofa not to mention the coffee table. there might be enough room between the bed and TV - of course then the sofa bed person would be blocked from going to the rest room.... :rotfl:

I love the inside of WL. very friendly and comfortable. This is a small resort - so you can easily walk to everything.

put a day to do the pools- believe me you might wish you did.

VWL has one of the best gyms on property.

you can watch the EMP from the beach.

It has some great walking paths - one goes over to FW.

My apologies... I left out that we always stayed in a 1Br at OKW. Does that alter any opinions?

thanks---

A 1-BR at VWL will have plenty of room for the inflatible bed, you should be fine.

definitely there will be room in the livingroom or in your bedroom.

now no laundry room, just a laundry closet. So you need to go with smaller loads than OKW could handle.

the whirlpool tub is smaller too. easier to get in and out of though. Enough for one person. the shower stall is just as big.

ask for a lake view - you might get a great view otherwise even through the trees you can still see the lake.

oh you make me realize why I love VWL and need to go back...

OKW has a more square shower stall (and maybe more square footage). VWL (and others like it) has a more narrow and long shower stall. The OKW one is the best. You could hold a party in there.

One great thing about VWL is that it is so close to all the activites at FW. Campfire, bicycling etc. DH and I love cycling around FW.

And dont forget the boat to the Magic Kingdom and the other monorail resorts! enjoy your vacation.

I don't know the ages of your children, but they have duck races on some afternoons in the creek by the lobby...lots of fun with neat small prizes and no charge to participate.

Also, you can ask for a sheet at Guest Services which will give you clues to finding hidden Mickeys all around WL and VWL. Lots of fun to look for them with the kids.

Whispering Canyon is a fun place for a meal, and Roaring Fork is a good counter service place.

I rarely disagree with your comments, Deb, but I think I have to disagree here. Our last two trips have been to OKW in a 1BR and 2BR, and the shower stalls were about half the size of the VWL ones. If you could hold a party in there, you'd want to invite Munchkins. :teeth:
