VWL transportation

Hi everyone,

I have not heard about it for a while, but when VWL opened I heard a lot of complaints about the boat launches to MK. Specifically I heard they were packed and did not run often enough. Has this been worked out yet?

I recently read about transportation at VWL. It sounds like everything is worked out. Most replies were favorable. Do a quick search. The post was not to long ago.

On our last few visits, On the MK route they were using the larger enclosed boats. On our stay in 97, they were using the smaller open launches.

We were there over July 4th last year, and had no problems with transportation. We did have our own car, but used the boat to MK every day.

I stayed there March 19 -25 transporation was wonderful - no problem - for some reason FW was using the boat launch at the Mk for WLV I don't know why - so you have to be sure on the flag color.

We also had no problem with the boat launch to MK. We were just there last week and took it over at about 6:30 PM. The boat did get pretty filled, but dropped many off at FW before heading over to MK. There was also a smaller boat that I believe goes directly to MK without stopping at FW. We didn't realize that until already underway. It was a great trip over. We did have to wait at night for the final pickup at 9:45...it came around 10:15 about 20-25 minutes I'd say after we arrived at the dock.(from MK to VWL). But the Electric Water Pageant was concluding on Bay Lake while waiting...so who cares!

Just look for the different color flags. some go to mk and some go to fw then mk and one goes to contemp. If the contemp. showed up first and we knew we just missed the mk boat we would ride to contemp and walk or monorail to mk. the boat to mk was a covered boat. to any other park we enjoyed free parking, and never had to wait on a bus. and i only lost "my" parking space twice in 10 days

with the boats to the MK in early Feb of this year. It is not a real busy time but we had no problems. We did take the Contempory boat once because it was there and we had plenty of time to get to the MK prior to opening.
