VWL transportation

We have ressies for the week of Thanksgiving at the VWL and was wondering about the traportation. We were at Disney last week and stopped by to see the resport we bought sight unseen also. A very nice CM took us over to look at a 1 bedroom unit and all I can say at this point is we make a good choice. We have always stayed at OKW and love it there. Never had to wait very long for a bus to or from the parks. OKW has always given us what we request which was very nice due to this trip I was 5 weeks post surgery. So I need to hear from all of you that have stayed at the lodge.

WL transportation was great (JMO) when my DW & I were there in May. We had very minimal waits for buses to the parks.

Now the buses are often shared with FW, so you make a stop there before heading to the park. The AK bus stops at FW then swings by Blizzard Beach before hitting AK.

The boat to MK is wonderful! I loved taking it, because it is so relaxing. The trip is quite fast.

We only had a couple of negative experiences in getting back to WL. At Epcot we had a 25 min. wait, but at AK we waited over 40 min. for a bus back to WL. NOT GOOD. However, those were the only negatives -- otherwise the bus service was very, very good.

Thanks for the reply.....My mom was with us when we went over to see the lodge & she said it reminded her of Big Cedar Lodge in Branson, Mo. Cant wait for Nov to get here now.

We had great experiences with the transportation from VWL in January. At that time we shared the bus with poly and GF but based on one of the other replies, I guess that has been changed to FW. Either way, I'd much rather be the FIRST pickup than the last (less chance of it being too crowded to get on).

The boat was awesome! And the bus was usually there within 10 minutes--which really isn't that bad! Gives you a chance to enjoy the beautiful trees and the Florida sun!

Have a great time. I'm already counting down the weeks till' our 4 day trip to VWL in Sept to celebrate our DD's 4th birthday!

Last Oct (post 9/11) we had no problems with the bus service. And I was told later that the resort was full. Waits were minimal, we took the boat to MK, stopping at FW first. Buses to MGM and AK, we stopped at Poly and GF to pick up folks. But I think I've read that they've made some changes.
