We are going to the VWL for the first time this October and staying in a One Bedroom. Can anyone recommend a one bedroom that they were happy with. Also we are traveling with two small childern and I will be 6mnths Pergrant so close to the Elevators would be nice.
And does anyone know if they have upgrated the VCR's to DVD yet in the one bedrooms. I appreicate any input.

If you request a specific room, you could end up disappointed. What are the odds of that one room being free during the time you are there? It would be better to request a room type that you want. For example no smoking, close to the elevator (you should explain your situation and I'm sure it could be for medical reasons to guarantee it). We always request quiet pool view and have been successful getting it 50% of the time.

They had not as of 12/2004.

We were in 3502 (I think) in Oct last year and loved it.
It was at the end of a short hall, to the right as you exit the elevators. It was dedicated so it was a bit more spacious (no connecting door). If view is not real important, it looked out towards the lodge. To the right you could see Bay Lake and the ELP at night. It may not be for everyone, but we liked it.
I do agree with others, ask for general request, so you're not disappointed.
Enjoy your stay.

As of last night, our 2BR at VWL still had a VCR player. The 20 or so DVDs we brought went unused.

I was just there 2 weeks ago and stayed in room 5530 a 1 bedroom. It is the top floor with dormer style ceilings and the high balcony walls with overhanging eaves. Very nice. Gave a feeling of coziness and privacy.

It had a great view (see below), was quite near the elevator but also very quiet. It did not have a DVD player, just the VCR.

Do they have movies to rent/borrow or just bring your own? Thanks...
There is a selection of movies in the gift shop, and you can borrow them free of charge.

As mentioned above, they are free (provided you aren't renting points ;) )

I find the movie selection to be pretty lame. We usually bring our own.

Do the televisions have external inputs? I am thinking of using my laptop as a DVD player. It comes with a media interface where I can output the video either via an S-Video or composite connection.

Thanks.
