I am booked in a 1 bedroom at vwl and have 2 questions.

1. Our youngest will be sleeping in a pack n play in the walk in closet off the bathroom. Can the door shut with the pack n play in there? Also he likes a nightlight. Does the closet have an outlet in it?

2. When doing a room request what would you suggest? I was thinking of requesting an atrium room but worry it would be louder with the elevator being nearby. I need a quieter location and would prefer a dedicated 1 bedroom without the adjoining door which sometimes causes noise issues. Where would you request a room?

Thanks in advance.

We had an atrium room that had a very tiny closet off the bathroom that a pack and play never would have fit in so I think you might want to skip that request but you also may have to have something else in mind if you get a room with a smaller closet. Regarding the outlet I'm afraid I didn't notice.

wow. Thanks for the info. I'll avoid requesting an atrium room then because I would rather have the bigger closet. I guess if our ends up having a small one then the little one will have to have his pack n play near the tub area instead.

No outlet that I remember, but I do remember that the closet door takes up space in the closet. So putting the pack and play in the closet, you might not be able to close the door. You might do better hanging a sheet over the top of the pack and play and leaving it in the master bedroom.

The dedicated two bedroom had a massive closet in the second bedroom, but not so much in the master.

Here's a picture of it - kind of a wedge shape. It's a little difficult to see but the front area by the door was not big enough for much more than setting the laundry basket down lengthwise. They had to use a swing door that opened outward because there wasn't enough room for it to swing in.

That's not all that different from the standard room, just not at an angle.

Not too different in that it had a hanging bar and shelf but it was definitely different.

Here's two others we've had. Both squared off and both with sliding doors. By not being slanted they had a slightly less than double the floor space of the other which makes the difference for using a pack and play. Not quite so much for hanging.

Those don't look like any of the closets we had. They must be different in every room.

Does anyone know if I can request a room with a sliding closet door...or will they look at me like I'm crazy??

Anybody know which area of the villas have the units configured this way or is it a mystery?

I don't think I have seen that one.

I'm certain you would get a comment that they had never had that request before! :goodvibes

FWIW all the rooms I showed the closets from - including the atrium were on the bus stop side. The two with sliding doors were on the wing nearest the main lodge so you would get off the elevator and take a right to the section.

Thanks! Perhaps I'll ask for the shorter hallway you are speaking of. Though I have heard the rooms on the bus side of that hallway can get some noise from the luggage being rolled over that walkway outside. Do you have any knowledge on that? :) you've been so helpful!!

Yes, you can hear the luggage if you have the balcony door open and also some of the bus noise so that isn't the quietest section if your outside but we did not notice any of that when the balcony door was closed. At first I was concerned when we would get that side but VWL is small enough that it's never a constant stream of luggage. 10-11 am might be the exception. ;)
