This is one of those that I am sure has been discussed in the past, so first let me apologize for being repetitive. Will be staying at VWL for the first time this September. We have a one bedroom booked. Last September we stayed at BLT and took the boat over to WL and loved it! So that is why we booked there this year.

I have researched the unofficial guide and DVCnews.com to get an idea for a room recommendation. First I got the impression that not all of the DVC villas WL have balconies and that some have balconies that are to narrow to sit out on? Is that accurate?

Second, I would love to hear your preferences of room vies at VWL.

TIA

Rick

VWL is the red roof resort in this photo.

As you can see, you view will be most likely of trees and more trees. You can see the entire length of the resort in this photo, so you can also tell that it is a very small resort and even the farthest room from the elevator is not very far at all.

There is one villa without a balcony...I think it's a studio but I don't know the room number. And none of the balconies are too narrow to sit on, but some of the upper ones have the solid wall that you can only look out a relatively small area. You can see a couple of those on the left side of the resort in the photo.

It's a great place and I'm sure you'll love it. Enjoy! :)

Gee, Granny, that's an interesting photo of VWL. Never seen it from that angle. Trees, trees and more trees for a view. Sometimes a peek of the lake through the trees.

The villa without the balcony is a studio and I thought I heard it's in a corner where the balcony didn't fit.

Granny,

Thank you for the photo!! Ummm, the view is going to be the same as it is from the back deck of my house. Hmm, maybe I should have thought this through a little more before booking. LOL.

Hey it's Disney so I am sure it will be nice. I love the woods, so it will be nice to relax on the deck with that view and not be thinking about all of the yard work I have to do. I think I will just as for a high floor and be done with it.

As was mentioned the one villa without a balcony is a studio (4533 I believe), so you're fine in a 1BR.

Here is a picture of one of the solid wall balconies. They aren't any smaller but can feel that way because of the wall.

Or here's a balcony that is not enclosed. The wide angle lens is making it appear longer than it actually was:

Awesome pictures!! Thank you!! What floor were you on?

By the way, my son loves your Corgi.

Thanks again!

Gotta love a Corgi lover! :goodvibes

The room with the open balcony was on the 3rd floor. The room with the enclosed balcony was on the 5th floor. I think that the 5th floor is the only one where some of the rooms have the solid wall.
