I posted this in the resort forum but I figured I should ask the experts. For those of you that have stayed at both, which is better: a one-bedroom at Wilderness Lodge or a one-bedroom at Old Key West?

It depends on what you are looking for. Neither is better...both are first class accommodations on-site at WDW.

The OKW 1BR will be substantially larger than the VWL 1BR. And it will have a large balcony that holds a full table with chairs instead of the smaller balconies at VWL that hold a couple of the resin type chairs.

Other than roominess, the amenities are pretty much the same. The decor is quite different.

There is a good overview of all the DVC resorts on the Official Disney DVC Site

There is no "better". There is different. :)

I agree, we love both. But they are so different! For the easiness factor, we like OKW. You can park right out front your door, the rooms are so spacious, nice to spread out.
At VWL, it's all about the atmosphere, the theming, and the accessibility to MK (we love the boat!).

I guess my advice is to list pros and cons of both and make the decision that way.

Also important is how and where you will be spending the majority of your days.

I agree with Granny - I don't think there is 'better' only 'different' and it really is up to you. I also suggest that you list the pros and cons.

But, sometimes 'better' is the one you can get a reservation at! There is usually availability at OKW and may not be at VWL, depending on when you plan to be there.

I hope you'll be happy with whatever decision you make.
