VWL or BCV? Update. Yippee...... we bought!

Thank you nisiemouse for your outlook on owning at a couple resorts and for having 300 pts. That does sound like a good number for our family and it's nice to know it has worked for you. I'd love to have more of course, but wouldn't be able to visit enough to use them up. At least not at this time anyway. Maybe as the kids get older and the DH takes off work a bit more... ha ha. It was so nice of you to answer my post. Thanks!

Congratualtions on your purchase. We bought at BCV sight unseen and we couldn't be happier. The location is great the pool is great and as an added benefit you can occasionally get a view where you can see Illuminations from your balcony. Also, walking to EPCOT without having to wait for a bus is great when you have little children (our little gal is 16 months and it sure was nice to just push that stroller over the bridge at the end of the night). I hope you enjoy your purchase.

vanstoj: Thank you for your post. That does sound pretty sweet! We lived out of the stroller during our last trip (our son was 8 mos. old) and I couldn't imagine doing Disney w/o a stroller...... even kidless. It was great for packing the cameras, coats, bags, etc. And just strolling back to the resort sounds like a huge covenience. I am very excited about BCV and it's good to know you are also pleased w/ your purchase. It's nice to meet another BCV neighbor! Hope to see you there someday. Sincerely......

So glad your decidision got made! We had a similar dilema right after we first purchased in '97. We chose OKW, because we didn't care for the size or decor of the BWV units. We knew almost imediately that we needed more than the 230 points we bought. We took about a year to decide if we should buy an extra 150 at BWV or go on a wait list for more OKW points. While we were trying to decide, they opened up more points at OKW from the added buildings that were put where the Commodore House used to be. We decided immediately to add on and have all our points at one resort and with the same use year. In retrospect, we should have waited for VWL to open up, but we really like having "all our eggs in one basket". It makes trading out (which we have only done once) mush easier when all points are at the same resort. To be perfectly honest, I don't think you can make a mistake when adding on with DVC! The only problem you will have is remembering that some of your points expire 12 years earlier than the others. I DO think if you like BCV and VWL, that owning at those resorts will become more important in the future for the 11 month booking window.

CONGRATULATIONS! And WELCOME HOME to ANOTHER new home away from home!:wave2: :earsboy:
