VWL Groupies & Lovers Thread (Special Collectors Edition 2.5) updated 2 February 2025

MT was a hoot! She definitely epitomized what WCC was all about
Many years back when our DS Casey was about 10, she waited on us for the 1st time. She picked on him and told him she got off work at 4 and to meet her at the pool later, where she would waiting with her bikini on. Poor Casey turned every shade of red a boy could!😂

FF to a few yrs ago, she was still giving him grief and we were all lapping it up.

Gonna miss her, she was a great CM
I’m so glad you have a picture of her to go along with all the memories. I hope she knew how many smiles she brought to people.

Happy early mid-week folks! My daughter and her family are at WDW right now, doing a no-park trip and staying at the Caribbean Beach resort. They have been there two days and are having a great time. My grandkids, (ages 4 & 2) are having a blast at their very nice pool and play areas. The kids are amazed by the Sky Liner that comes right to their resort! Fortunately the kids are at an age that they don't really realize they are missing out on the parks. Pools, play areas, character meals and lots of eating treats make this trip heaven for them.

We are going as an extended family next April. Mrs Granny and I are looking forward to the kids really getting into it. And I guarantee you, that will NOT be a no-parks trip! :)

I'm headed off for a no parks trip tomorrow. I've seen so many streamers from within the parks over the last few years that I just don't find a pull to be there. Although I have yet to ride Tron, Guardians, or the rebuild of Splash, Youtube streamers have filmed those rides and areas so often that I feel as though I've been there done that and I'd much rather experience them when at least some of the changes that are on the way to AK, MK and DHS/MGM are ready.

My itinerary involves swimming, sleeping, wandering, laughing and taking some pictures :) If I feel like hitting up a park I do have an AP sitting ready to be used, but am more likely to pull up my non-expiring Universal tickets (thanks to mom for working there!) and use those as the HP areas never disappoint.

hello!! While I am not an owner, I am a VWL lover and will be staying in December for a night before we move over to VGF. We decided to head to WDW a day early and I had a waitlist set for the extra night for a few months, and it came through this week! This will be our 2nd time staying at the Lodge. Our first time was in a 1BD. This time, we'll be in a studio. Is it correct that the studios on the 5th floor have sofa beds, not the Murphy? Thank you!

No need to own points at VWL, just have a love of it and the Lodge and you become a Groupie!
I can't speak to the bed/sofa situation but I can say, according to Granny's picture post on the 1st page, it looks like there are only 2 studios on the 5th floor, down the shorter hall. But I do know someone here will chime in with the answer you need.

And a great big Welcome to the Groupies!!

Jimmy was correct in stating that there are only two studios on the 5th floor at VWL. They are both lock-off studios connected to a 1BR. I’ve never stayed in a studio but I think it’s safe to say that none of the 5th floor villas have Murphy beds…they all seem to have the traditional sleeper sofa though the new ones of those seem plenty comfortable to me.

And not to throw a wrench in here, but for the section of VWL nearest Wilderness Lodge (behind the elevators), there are only four floors. So I don’t know if the studios on the 4th floor in that section would have Murphy beds or sofa sleepers since that is the top floor for that section.

Just closed on our first DVC contract(resale) last week. My family of four did our first stay at CCV via rental in January and we fell in love. The boat rides to and from MK were the magic you hope for in a deluxe Disney stay and something I look forward to for years to come. We're eagerly awaiting our membership information from Disney so we can use the banked points we have expiring at the end of February. We already have a rented stay at AKL so I'm hoping we can tag on 2 nights at Copper Creek so our Welcome Home stay is in our home resort.

How lucky are we to have so many memories ahead of us with the 43 remaining years on our contract? Thanks to all that post here and show love to your home away from home.

Ohh, this is good to know. Sounds like I should ask for a 3rd floor or below to ensure we get the Murphy. Thank you!!

If you are a Copper Creek owner/lover, I think this is the thread for them- https://www.disboards.com/threads/•...k-villas-cabins-owners-lovers-group•.3631019/

Thank you! Our first stay as members as at VWL so we are excited to return ...just wish that it was longer than a night. Aiming for a long stay sometime in 2025! Very excited to stay at the Lodge while the holiday decorations are up.
If that’s the most important request you have, then by all means make that request. Good luck with your trip planning!

I was listening to a podcast that was discussing it was fun to know which room(s) your deeded interest is attributed to. I hunted online but wasn't able to find a map that shows the map of the units for The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge (since I assume those documents weren't updated to say Boulder Ridge). Does anyone have a link to the original units map? I'm specifically looking for unit 16B. Thanks!

I have heard or read something similar many years ago, but Im not sure how you go about finding that out. The only thing remotely close to a map with room numbers we have is shared on page 1 that Granny posted. Hope that helps!

The documents are filed with the state prior to resort opening, I think as part of the timeshare licensure process, but I’m not sure with which state agency. I thought there was a link here on DISboards years ago, but I couldn’t find it when I searched a few months ago. Someone on another forum was able to tell me this about the residential units that our two BWV contracts come from - each contract is 150 points - but didn’t have a floor plan to show exactly where in the building these RUs are:

Unit 5B - 0.2872% - 7 dedicated studios, 1 dedicated 1BR, 3rd floor
Unit 1C - 0.8651% - 1 dedicated studio, 1 dedicated 1BR, 3rd floor
