I would think the waterfall outside between the building and main pool.

I would second the waterfall area. Maybe that cozy nook with the small fireplace in the lodge, I think it’s the 4th floor? So many good choices! What a great gift!
Heh, heh. I have some experience with this, though it was many years ago. A few other options I'd recommend: 1) 4th floor deck/viewing area that overlooks the main pool and lake. Step outside and have that as your backdrop. 2) Near the boat dock with the lake behind you. Lake makes a gorgeous setting. 3) Steps leading up to the waterfall just outside Roaring Fork. Great for adding various levels of height. 4) Not only the waterfall as a backdrop, but after walking up the steps in #3 above, there are places along the small holding pond where folks can sit/stand to create a lovely tableau. 5) If you can stretch it to early dark, I highly recommend outside at the exit of the bus loop with the Lodge behind you. The shot can focus on the group, and you'll have the night-lit beauty of our beloved home away from home. That will take timing so as not to be disturbed by a bus, but as we all know, sometimes buses don't come along for several minutes or more.

My BIL went there when he was stationed at Misawa AFB in Japan and he absolutely loved it and he isn’t as big a Disney fan as me.
Aging parents is a sad thing to deal with as we are dealing with it now. My dad is 92 and still working with us everyday but he is slowly losing what once was on auto pilot for him. But I’m so grateful I still have him and my mom and both still drive and don’t let any grass grow under them
Tammy’s mom is pretty much an invalid by self induced reasons but we still try to be there for her. Tammys dad passed at 52 with ALS in 99 which lead us to go to WDW in the 1st place, I won’t bore you with that story.
We know we are blessed to still have my parents and her mom with us

That is so sad. She was our server several years ago and she was so funny. I asked her for a straw and so she proceeded to put straw after straw in my hair that I had pulled up in a bun. My family was laughing so hard. I told her I was going to the MK like that and she laughed (and I did go to MK with all the straws in my hair) I also remember she asked us to call her MT Wallet
She was everything the Whispering Canyon is about.That is so sad. She was our server several years ago and she was so funny.
