We want to stay one night at VWL at the end of our trip in sept and can't decide which to choose. Have the boulder ridge villas been renovated or still in good condition? know the other 2 are not even open yet so no one has personal info on them. I am thinking for just one night it might be nice to splurge for the cabin to experience it. But then I think it would be really nice to be in the main building closer to everything...

any input from those who have been to WL and/or staying at the cabins at Poly as I hear the set up is similar?

Personally, I can't see using almost half of my annual allotment for one night. But, those cabins look amazing. Of course, I don't think I could relax sitting outside on the porch as I'd be constantly looking for critters and things that slither.

Boulder ridge has been renovated.

The cabins at the poly are fully over the water instead of next to the water.

Just booked CCV for November!

related questions:

where are the cabins and are they a far distance from the main building/pools?

can you see the electric light pageant from the buildings or cabins?

Thanks. We have 240 points and are in need of using points from previous year. We are only using a few points for our current year. The rest will be banked so we have plenty, which is why I thought to splurge a little. I was worried about the critters too and alligators, being so close to the water but it says the porch is screened in... still a little leery walking around there though

Then I would book the cabin, this could be your only chance to stay there.

Here's a map https://i1.wp.com/*******.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/WL-BRV-CCV-Resort-MapL.jpg?ssl=1 - I think you would see the Electrical Parade, especially from the cabins toward the MK side as opposed to the FW side.

If I had the extra points I'd do it!

Sorry, I forgot about links.... just google "copper creek disney cabin map" and pick the first non-disney hit.

Cabins are near the water but not over the water. You can see the EWP if you can view the lake (cabins definitely; other rooms depend on the view).

Wilderness Lodge is a fairly compact resort compared to others such as Poly.

As others have said, the cabins offer great views of Bay Lake and you will definitely see -- and hear -- the Electric Water Pageant.

There are 26 cabins at Copper Creek with 12 cabins on the north side of the Lodge and 14 cabins on the south side of the Lodge, which is the side closest to the existing Boulder Ridge building and the new Boulder Ridge Cove pool. Of the 14 cabins on the south side, the first few will be quite close to Geyser Point (the new grill & bar that is already open) and the Boulder Ridge Cove pool. But if you are in the last cabin you will be a bit of a walk away from the rest of the resort. To put in in perspective, we were in the second to the last villa the Boulder Ridge building and we looked directly at cabins 7# and #8. So cabins #9 through #14 are further away from the Lodge than the end of the Boulder Ridge building.

By the way, Disney is building two small parking lots at either end of the resort that will be gated and for the exclusive use of guests staying in the cabins.

thanks everyone. i ended up booking a cabin. I figure it may be the only time they are available when we want one as I am sure they will fill up once more owners buy into WL. I struggled with the cost of them but being only one night, it is a perfect way to check them out and spend some time at WL, which we have only ever been to for dinner, many years ago. Wondering if I can request a general location when I do the online check in. I guess I will have to wait/see. I would much prefer to be closer to the main buildings and pools.

I was wondering about parking for the cabins, so thanks for adding the info about the parking lots. That seems like a really long walk from the main building with luggage and all for those last cabins.

ETA: thanks for the map too. I was able to find this one online and it shows the cabins clearly, which is what I was looking for. Now if only it showed the path of the electric pageant. Wondering if the left side cabins get a view or if the parade goes around the other side of the island
