VWL Availability Aug 21 +

Hi Everyone,

It's getting close to my 7 month mark and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on availability at Wilderness Lodge.

We would like to arrive Sunday 8/21 for 5 nights and are looking for a 2-Bedroom.

The past 3 years we've gone Labor day week (which I love), but because my son starts Kindergarten this year we're decided to go a couple of weeks earlier. We had a 2-bedroom at BWV all 3 years and never had a problem getting standard view 7 months out.

I was just curious if anyone knew if we'd be as lucky with Wilderness Lodge. Our 2nd Choice is BWV and third will be AKL. We rent points from our friends so I really won't know anything until my friend gets the confirmation.

I was so anxious last week about whether or not I would be able to get a 2 bedroom BW view at Boardwalk for the first two nights of my August trip, that I actually called a few days early and just asked for availability for 7 days out that would include those nights.

I figured if they were already gone, then I didn't need to worry about trying to call from work the day my 7 month window opened up but could just send MS an email to put me on the wait list.

I found it was available so I made time in my schedule to call when my window opened up to try for it. I knew going in that it being available a few days earlier was no guarantee it would still be available, but at least it gave me the information I needed to plan.

In your case, you (well, the member) could technically call today and ask them for availability for that room for 7 nights and find out if they still have some for at least those first few nights.

Availability changes by the second. Last week while making a reservation with MS, an available one-bedroom was booked by someone else as the CM was making our reservation.

That stinks for you! When I called to book the 2 bedroom BW view room at BWV last week, I asked the CM about the chance of losing it while she canceled out the BLT nights and she told me that she had put it on hold so no one else could take it.

That was the first I heard of that.

I was told that the new software makes it imposable for inventory to be put on hold. MS strikes again.

When I call regulary reservations a week and half ago inquiring prices and such at VWL & AK (I was just doubling checking on rate re the 30% and kids stay free offers - renting DVC is still the way to go!) I was told there were no 2-bedrooms available at BW or AK (there was a WL). I know general inventory is different from DVC inventory..so I'm still anxious.

I truly appreciate my friend letting us rent the points and I don't want to be a bother so I usually e-mail her the day before our 7-month mark with 3 reservation choices and wait for an answer. And so far we've always gotten our 1st choice.

I appreciate your input and will just have to wait and see. I've stayed at WL before and love it. My husband has never stayed there and is really excited about trying it this year. So for him I hope we get it. Thanks...
