VWL and Pool Rehab - Anyone there recently?

We have a trip planned for March 19th at VWL and I know the main pool is currently under rehab. I had hoped it would be done by our trip, read somewhere it was going to be done by the 17th, but now I am reading some say it has been moved back to the 31st of March.

I am wondering if the quiet pool is as loud and crowded as the resort board is saying. Has anyone stayed recently in the villas and been able to hear the noise in their rooms?

I have been hearing about a bus to the Contemporary but any bus to Poly to use the pool there?

I considered changing resorts but we really love VWL and are bringing friends with us and wanted to share it with them. I hope we didn't make a mistake...

We were at VWL from 2/4 to 2/8. I didn't think the villa's pool was that crowded while we were there. However, we only had a couple of days that was really nice enough for swimming. Our room was at the very end of VWL so we couldn't even see the pool much less hear anything.

They had a sign saying a shuttle was available. I think it said it went to both CR and Poly and you met it at the bike/boat rental. I'm not 100% sure though as we didn't use it and I only glanced at the sign.

The kiddie pool, main hot tub and pool bar were open while we were there. They seemed to be working pretty hard on the pool so hopefully they will be done by your vacation.

Thanks donmil723. I'm sure we will have fun either way and can always just go from Magic Kingdom over to one of the other hotels to swim. That will probably less hassle. We just have to plan to bring our suits to the parks. And, when we are ready for bed, I am sure things will have calmed down regardless. I am really looking forward to the trip!

We were at VWL 1/27 - 2/3 in unit 4519 overlooking the pool. We had spotty weather, but only really noticed people at the pool in the late afternoon (4-6pm ish). Even then, it was maybe 5 or six families with plenty of lounges to spare. We always went out on our balcony around 7-8am for a weather check and then again around bedtime (9-10pm). There were never loud crazy people at the pool. If anything, the Electric Water Parade and accompanying music was a bit loud when trying to get 4 kids to bed. HTH!

A poster on the Resorts board (CanadianGuy) within the last day states he spoke to a CM named Linette at WL and was told rehab scheduled to be completed by March 17 and guests allowed to use Poly and CR pools while the WL pool is closed. I hope he is right as we are scheduled to arrive on March 24. See link to the Resorts Board thread
